I hear individual game tickets are being sold through online ticket sites so I'm surprised they're still trying to sell packages.

I think the NHL are selling individual tickets through secondary market sites like StubHub and VividSeats. You can tell as some have 15 seats together, which is difficult to get for a scalper. Furthermore, some games have over 4000 seats for sale.
The tickets do not seem to be selling that well. For the Europe vs Czech game you can get a seat for USD 10 in the upper area. Even for Canada vs Europe, you can get a seat for 100 USD. That is cheaper than some Leafs games.
There are a lot of empty seats for the exhibition games in Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec as well with just a month to go until the game.
The cash grab may not be working out so well...

Yeah, because NA23 vs Europe in Montreal is really a good drawing card.
Meanwhile, Ottawa gets Canada-US.
I'm not saying NA vs. Europe would've been better in Ottawa (and I really don't care), but there was a matchup that made sense in Montreal.

It will be interesting to see the level of intensity in the NA young guns vs. Euro leftovers exhibition game. I doubt there will be much hitting or shot blocking. At least NHL preseason games have the rookies working hard to make the team.
I wonder what they will do with the pre-game show at the arena with no anthems. Maybe they could have PK Subban come and sing some country tunes to rev up the crowd. Or even better, he could do his comedy routine from the Just for Laughs Festival.
