Did this quick research:
Wanted to know how many players who win Stanley cup before the 2004-05 lockout are still active.
I expected there would be only few but I am surprised anyway that there are only two such players in NHL: Jaromir Jagr (obvious answer) and Brian Gionta. Then there are two unrestricted agents not playing (Patrik Elias and Alex Tanguay) and few players still playing in other professional leagues (Pavel Datsyuk is the most noticeable one).

After that, I tried to find last retired player from that teams (in this case I maybe missed someone). I did only the 90's and forth but it might be interesting to track down the previous years. From 1980's I guess Messier is the answer for Oilers, Roy for Montreal, Greg Gilbert for Islanders?
Or it can be found somewhere and I am doing worthless work?:D Am I missing someone?

Here is the table:
1991 PIT - Jaromir Jagr (Mark Recchi 2011)
1992 PIT - Jaromir Jagr (Mario Lemieux 2006)
1993 MON - none (Mathieu Schneider 2010)
1994 NYR - none (Sergej Zubov 2010)
1995 NJD - none (Martin Brodeur 2015, Brian Rolston 2012)
1996 COL - none (Sandis Ozolinsh 2008/2014, Adam Foote 2011, Peter Forsberg 2011)
1997 DET - none (Sergei Fedorov 2009/2012, Vyacheslav Kozlov 2010/2015, Tomas Holmström 2012, Nicklas Lidström 2012, Chris Osgood 2011, Kris Draper 2011)
1998 DET - none (see above)
1999 DAL - none (John Sim 2011/2014, Jamie Langenbrunner 2013, Mike Modano 2011)
2000 NJD - Patrik Elias* (Scott Gomez 2016 , Martin Brodeur 2015)
2001 COL - Steven Reiprecht**, Alex Tanguay* (Ville Nieminen 2007/2015, Martin Skoula 2010/2015, David Aebischer 2008/2015, Milan Hejduk 2013)
2002 DET - Pavel Datsyuk***, Jason Williams?
2003 NJD - Brian Gionta, Jiri Bicek****
2004 TBL - Martin Cibak****, Eric Perrin***** (Brad Richards 2016, Ruslan Fedotenko 2013/2016)

* UFA (not playing)
** in NHL till 2011, now playing German league
*** in NHL till 2016, now playing KHL
**** now in Slovak league
***** now in Finnish league
If there are two years of retirement, it means NHL retirement and hockey retirement.

wow, so there's not a single active NHL player from even the 2002 red wings, and there's still one from the 1991 Penguins?

That's pretty crazy.

1993 : Oleg Petrov was somewhat part of that team and active up until 12-13 (KHL, Dynamo and Yaroslavl).

I think 1990 Oilers would be Gelinas.

1986 Habs would be Chelios.

Islanders would be Brent Sutter, I think.

It's not crazy,it's just Jagr. :D
He was one of the reasons to do it. I was amazed how many retired players born after him (73-79) I found during that. I remember there was a thread 'who will be the last active player born in 70's'... I put my money on him.;)
Anyway, expected to find more 2000-2004 guys still in business.

Bold bet, considering his birth year.

Odds are hugely stacked against him. Still 17 other players to outlast (13 of whom I am sure will play next year), and three of them are 1979 birthdays with at least a couple of years left in them.

Jagr can't just want to play - there has to be a team willing to pay him and put him on the ice. The way this season is going, I'm not sure next year is a sure thing, and beyond that....

So basically just Jagr and Gionta pre lockout. And Gionta is probably gone after this year too.

You just know that ex-teammate Bryan Trottier was having fun with Jagr at the all star game. "How are you still playing??!"

What about Rod Langway for the 1978-79 Montreal Canadiens when he retired from NHL play midway through the 1992-93 season? And then he went on to play a few more years in the IHL.

1984 Oilers was obviously Messier, who retired in 2005 (last played in 2004).

1990 Oilers was indeed Martin Gelinas, who 'retired' from the NHL in 2008 and then played 2008-09 in the Swiss League.

By the way, who was the last-man-standing from the Islanders dynasty? Was it Brent Sutter (played to 1998)?

If you count him as part of the dynasty, and I don't exactly know why one would do so, it's Gord Dineen (in the IHL up to 00).

If not, then Sutter or Jonsson (in Sweden; not counting his game in Swedish 4th division), who stopped playing pro hockey in '98.

Well, the 2002 team was one of the oldest teams on record. Pavel Datsyuk was a rookie though.

FWIW, Jagr would have to play until the 2020-21 season to equal Gordie Howe's mark of playing in the NHL 30 years after winning a Stanley Cup.

When Elias officially retires, I'm probably going to have a nice dinner to commemorate the 2000 Cup team.

He technically wasn't part of the 2000 Cup team, but Deron Quint was at least on paper a member of the roster. He was acquired at that deadline for Lyle Odelein. But Quint was suspended after a few games (vaguely recall that he showed up to practice hungover). He was traded after the Cup Finals to Columbus with Krzysztof Oliwa for Turner Stevenson.

Quint turns 41 next month and is still playing in Germany: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=4430

crazy that jagr and gionta are the only active NHL'ers who won a cup prior to the 04-05 lockout

holy crap, steve reinprecht is still playing?

So it looks like there are still 7 pre-lockout champions hanging in European leagues. Specially Kovalev is impressive (I admit that I overlook him going through the roster). He didn't play last two seasons and he is scoring on PPG pace in this one (but 11 games only, and 10 points). ;)

Remarkable number of non-NA players there as "last survivors".

Mark Messier is the winner here, being the last NHL-active player from four SC champions. Esa Tikkanen stole him this achievement (worldwide) by coming from retirement and playing one season in Korea in 2004/05.

If not for Datsyuk, Chelios would be very close to be the last man standing from 1986 and 2002 (16 years apart!).

Kovalev, not Zubov, would be the last player standing in the NHL as Kovalev played in 12-13. But I am surprised that Kovalev is still playing right now. I am probably even more surprised to hear that Deron Quint is still active. Now there's a name I hadn't heard in a long time.

If the criteria is four SC champions, wouldn't Lidstrom have him beat?

For the 1961 Blackhawks it has to be Mikita and Hull in 1980. Honestly, are there two players from a Cup winning team that played that long?
