Always fun to look back. Here are the 5 most recent WJC's.

Canada has 3 golds
US has 2 golds

It is in Ottawa on a NHL rink... smart money says Canada or US are winning here.

Canada have 3 gold and 1 silver
US have 2 golds and 1 bronze
Sweden have 1 silver and 2 bronzes
Czechs have 1 silver and 1 bronze
Finland have 1 bronze and silver

On the broadcast last night they mentioned that only 3 nations have won in the last 12 years.. Finns, Canada and US. Slow clap to the Finns!

I'm annoyed by losing in 2021. Oh well. Looking at these, we have had some memorable gold medal games over the last five years. Even last year the antics after the game was clearly decided were interesting. 2020 had troll Hayton and the TSN camera, 2021 had Zegras torching Canada, 2022 and 2023 were both sudden death and 2022 had the McTavish play.

Sweden needs to start contributing more Golds.

Russia being back will help make it less lopsided, whenever that happens.

Finland might be in for a few weak years coming up soon. Wouldn't be shocked if Czechia has a better stretch the next 2-3 years.

USA has never won two straight, this is their sixth such chance.

Bronze in 2011 and 2018 are their best results when entering as reigning champions.

it will end this year there winning gold unless have a bad game in the final in my opinion lol
I'd say they are the paper favs for this and 4 nations. But Canada has those damn intangibles and always find a way. Winning in Ottawa would be an amazing sight to be honest.
