I think he is the steal of 2022 draft, 1st round talent, no doubt.

Right now he is only 5"8,25. but his Doctor say that he can grow at 5"10, even 5"11.

Just stats, but in same age and same leagues... he have better stats than Quinn Hughes and Adam Fox.

Quinn Hughes:

USDP: 122 games, 17 goals, 60 assists, 77 points, 0,63ppg.
USHL: 60 games, 8 goals, 29 assists, 37 points, 0,62ppg.

Adam Fox:

USDP: 118 games, 13 goals, 73 assists, 86 points, 0,73ppg.
USHL: 59 gamres, 8 goals, 31 assists, 39 points, 0,66 ppg.

Lane Hutson:

USDP: 109 games, 15 goals, 75 assists, 90 points, 0,83ppg.
USHL: 54 games, 9 goals, 37 assists, 46 points, 0,85ppg.

What the potential of Lane Hutson?

I'd say that potential is as a #1 defenseman.

Likelihood of reaching it isn't amazing.

His offensive game is not dissimilar to Fox, he processes the game at an extraordinary rate.

But his defensive game is nowhere near Fox's, and I doubt it will ever be good enough to be a true #1.

His potential is a top 5 Dman in the NHL.

But his likelihood of hitting that potential is not so high.

He is the definition of a boom/bust type prospect, though I do think even at his worst he could be a powerplay specialist.
You just nailed it.

He'll never be an all-situations, play against the other team's best forwards. But he could feast on a 2nd pairing and be an all-star, elite player as a sheltered #3.

His ceiling is one of the best dmen in the NHL. He also has one of the lowest probabilities in the draft of hitting that ceiling. Wide set of outcomes.

He could be as good as Jordan Subban. Another noted "biggest steal of the draft".

I voted for him being a potential #2 D man, but he does have a higher chance of being nothing at all than most other players with that much upside. I'm a fan of gambling on players upside so he was well worth the risk where he was taken.

He's going to be an NHLer for sure, regardless of how small he is his vision is silly. Think he's either going to be a smaller Justin Schultz or Quinn Hughes with very little in between

If he grows, he could be amazing. If he doesn't, I'd be shocked if he has a future as an NHLer.

Jordan's potential was because of PK. Jordan on his own attributes was a 6th rounder.

Maybe partially, for some people. But he put up points that were very respectable on bad Junior teams. The PK thing played into a little bit, with people thinking he was going to be a mini-me with a lot of the same style of game and offensive flair. It was a hugely lauded "steal" of a pick at the time. "Boom or bust, with huge upside". Same story people tell with all of these little guys.

The point is...tiny offensive defencemen who can't defend, don't make it. They're absolute Unicorns at best.

Nice to hear about his offensive ability. So it's sound more like a Torey Krug type of D.
Maybe more a guy like we have here in Pionk? Smaller, not great skater, but a solid player to have in your top 4. Ryan Ellis would be another name maybe?

I like his profile a lot and wasnt sure about the Jets passing him up for Salomonsson...

He could become anything between being a nhl/ahl tweener and being a top 5 offensive defenseman in the nhl

At worst, Shayne Gostisbehere. At best, Adam Fox. The NHL is no longer a big man's game. If Hutson can keep up and control the play, he'll make the show and thrive. His instincts and talent are off-the-charts. I could see Quinn Hughes-esque.
