So downgrade in every aspect save for physical play? A lesser skater, less consistent scorer, along with being a bit of a meat head on the ice.
Yeah I'll stick with Loui, I don't have a suspicion he won't break down in year 2 of this contract due to heavy wear and tear from his style of play.

The season is still early, but the Ladd I see right now is pure garbage. I have a hard time to believe that Ericksson cannot be just a little bit better!

Eriksson

2014-15: 22G in 81GP
2015-16: 30G in 80GP

Ladd

2014-15: 24G in 81GP
2015-16: 17 25G in 59 78GP

They're actually pretty similar when it comes to goal-scoring. I think Eriksson has the slight edge in playmaking, though.

Ladd's not as good of a passer but he's better than Eriksson on the cycle, in the corners, and defensively. I could see Ladd and Sutter working well together.

Ladd in 17G in 59GP for Winnipeg, then had 8G in 19GP for Chicago, which means he had 25G in 78GP last year.

Ladd better than Eriksson defensively? That's interesting.

I disagree with this. Eriksson is a very good 2 way player.

Even 33 year old Vinny started out his free agent contract better than this.

Hopefully both guys pick it up as the season goes on. It's not really good for the league for high priced free agents to be this bad.

Has Ladd fallen off that much that the Islanders want to bail on him?

A lot of Jets fans were somewhat relieved when Ladd was traded to Chicago (for Dano plus a 1st) and then signed with the NYI.

If I recall, the Jets had an offer on the table in early September, 2015 for Ladd, for 6 years x $6 million. In hindsight, I'm ecstatic that fell through.

First captain of Jets 2.0 and there's lots of love in the 'Peg for his contributions, but I think he was always playing a line or two above where he should have been.

Hope he turns it around, but man oh man, is that NYI contract looking bad right now.

You should have NP with Van fans saying no then . I don't like the Canucks at all . Their GM is also an idiot but I don't even think he is dumb enough to do this deal . The NYI should have signed who the had . They seem to be a good team on the way up . Now they don't seem to have any heart . Maybe I am wrong as I only watched the Oilers play them and it was the 2nd worst game the Oilers played this year

Eriksson even when he's not scoring is a great two way winger. One of the best. I wouldn't touch this if I was the Canucks.
