These are some amazing collections. My only true cherished possession is an autographed authentic Gretzky jersey (from his retirement night) that I have yet to get framed. Besides that I just own some authentics of Kopitar, Frolov, Carter and Fiset. The game worn stuff is too rich for me, though I do love browsing collections and hope to one day get my paws on a Gretzky Easton stick.

I have Steve Passmore leg pads from a Kings used equipment sale, bought them for 200 bucks. Man those were the days.

Tons of game used or issued sticks are available at auction houses; the 2 biggest ones I follow are ClassicAuctions.net and GameWornAuctions.net, both of which offer auctions twice a year. 2 Gretzky Easton sticks were just sold at Classic’s last auction a little over a month ago. Type in “Wayne Gretzky stick” here to get a list of Gretzky sticks auctioned at Classic over the years:

If you just want an authentic issued stick (but not game-used), it will be a lot less expensive obviously.

Has anyone ever purchased any game used gear from Larry Robinson's Play It Again Sports shop? I believe they would have some game used stuff, at least in the past they did.

Never realized that Larry Brehm opened up his own Play it Again with Robinson. Bought my first pair of ice skates from Brehm in 1997 from the Play it Again in Huntington Beach and wound up going in there a lot for various items as I started playing hockey. Super great guy. He took me to a game against Chicago in late '97 and got me in the locker room afterwards to meet Laperriere. He had told Lappy that I was 13 years old when, in fact, I was a senior in high school and stood 6'4" 235 haha. Anyways, my only game-used item is courtesy of Larry arranging that meeting as Laperriere gave me the stick he used that night.

I'm not sure if he was dating Robinson's daughter at that time...I think he had a hook-up via Pete Demers. Regardless, I imagine that any game-used or autographed memorabilia purchased from there would be 100% legit. With COVID surely impacting his business pretty significantly, I kind of want to go buy something just to support him.

I got min off ebay more than 10 years ago. I think I paid $1400 for it. When I think of Kings hockey and me discovering the Kings in 1988 Gretzky's chrome stick is the one thing I think of.

The game used stuff might be too rich for me, unless I found one for a reasonable price, but non-game used I'd be fine with as well.

The authentic autographed Gretzky jersey I have is from his retirement night, and it's just like a game issued jersey with the double CCM stitching at the bottom and came with the UDA certification, and I was glad to get that one at under $500.
