In all the years I've been covering the Los Angeles Kings, both at the National Hockey League level, and throughout their minor league system, I've never had a coach clam up when talking to me about a young prospect...that is, until February 17, when I was in Ontario, California to speak with Kings right wing prospect Scott Sabourin, as well as his head coach, Mike Stothers of the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign.
But Stothers was visibly uncomfortable talking about Sabourin, who has not played a whole lot this season. In fact, Stothers avoided one of my questions altogether. But Stothers' boss, Kings assistant general manager Rob Blake, was very forthcoming about Sabourin, and he explained why Stothers clammed up.
