Kings Article: LA Kings: It May Not Be About Dean Lombardi Now, But At One Time, It Was

Wow, you've outdone yourself. I was really looking forward to the part about building team culture and it didn't disappoint. One of your best ever.

Excellent series.

Reading this last installment, I was struck with how important, how very important it is for the players to like each other. And to enjoy the championships along with them.

I was a huge Lakers fan back in the day, and enjoyed all of the 1980s championships, because that was Magic's team and they all were close in the clubhouse.

By contrast, I really didn't enjoy the Lakers' three titles (especially 2002) because of the Shaq-Kobe circus.

It's important to me as a fan that the players are good people who also care about each other. And its obvious to me that a team full of talent where everyone is close (as brothers) is a very special team indeed.

Thanks for an interesting, comprehensive and very well done series of articles. What the Kings have done with Lombardi leading the way is a fan's dream come true.
