Just a little over one month ago, Los Angeles Kings forward Adrian Kempe was still quite the question mark in the minds of his coaches.

Will he develop the hockey sense to make plays and find the open areas of the ice and create space for himself to generate scoring chances? Will he ever be responsible defensively? Can he win his share of battles along the boards?

But now, Kempe has exploded onto the scene with six goals, including the first hat trick of his career, and it's not just the goal scoring. He's been quite the surprise, even on defense.

So what gives, and will it last?

Good to see that Kempe is making adjusting throughout the game and his reached another level of performance... The kid as some have pointed out is probably better suited for the LW but it's also nice to know that his game is elevated with better line mates.... as good as this team has been so far this season, I can't but help to be excited for our team going forward...

Kempe has been playing much better lately. He has a good shot, and I would think Stevens wants him to shoot a lot more.

He isn't going to score on 33% of his shots throughout the season, so he needs to increase his shot volume.

Its great watching this kid get some confidence, his speed really seems to made the oppositions dmen uncertain. We do seem to be quite fortunate with some of our late first rounders/ 2nd rounders recently.

His playmaking ability shouldn't be overlooked, either. Dude makes crisp passes in tiny windows.

The kid in AZ is a stud, but our Kempe has a real shot at the Calder, and the league, outside of LA, miraculously, is taking notice

Does anyone still want to send Kempe, Muzzin, a 1st + (I think it was another pick) to Colorado for Duchene?

Didn’t think so.

Kempe has a shot, but it's Keller's to lose. It's gonna be a reaaaal pain in the ass having Patrick Kane 2.0 in AZ.

Considering how bad he is on faceoffs who would have thought he would be leading the team in +/- (early as it is)?
