When LA Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi speaks with the media, he pretty much gives us chapter and verse, rarely refusing to comment on any particular topic.

That was the case once again on February 29, 2016, when he spoke with the media about the 2016 NHL trade deadline, and about the players he acquired at the deadline, not to mention a couple of other players who were acquired prior to the deadline.

We've got the best GM for waxing poetic about his thinking process. I still listen to past trade calls of his occasionally. Interesting that he wanted Scuderi earlier, but the money didn't work out. Despite the core remaining, I had felt that the Kings lost a lot of championship experience after losing Stoll, Richards, and especially Williams. I'm not surprised Dean felt the same way and brought in some players who were battle-tested and had won it all. Vinny, Scuderi, Versteeg.

Let's hope Versteeg can bring in some secondary scoring, some finish. I'd like to see Vinny and V have some chemistry.
