The Los Angeles Kings began holding their annual Development Camp for their young prospects back in 2007. Since that time, all National Hockey League teams have begun to hold similar development camps.
It used to be that development camps were heavy on on-ice drills and scrimmages. They were even used as marketing tools for fans (and many teams still do that, and quite heavily). But the camps are changing and evolving, and perhaps no team's camp has undergone more evolution than the Kings development camp.
