Nice work again, Gann. Keep it up! I'm really digging the insights from Blake about the prospects' games.

Thanks! One more coming up next week...after that, I'm hoping to speak to Lombardi leading into rookie/training camps.

I'm really interested to see how McNabb fits in this season.

I'm anxious to see him too and was hoping he'd get the ice time he needs to develop the right way, but I guess if he has a good camp, he's the #7 and his time will be limited until Greene gets hurt or benched whichever comes first.

I liked his comment about the difference in coming to 'winning' organization, that he felt the difference and said it was 'top to bottom'. And how miuch watching the Kings in the playoffs and traveling with them helped.

I think he's gonna be a good fit.

It's also gotta motivate the hell out of him. Stepping right into one of, if not the best, team in the league.

Man I hope he doesn't get claimed Hickey style.
Guess too many NHL level players is never a bad thing.

I think these quotes and Blake talking about the play of the prospects is indicative that his hiring wasn't solely a PR move. Talking about things like McNabb's recovery from being in front of the net and getting to the boards quickly gives us some insight of what these guys are looking at, something that will go unnoticed by many of us.

Seems like a great addition to have that type of experience on staff who can also help assist in player development. It's also interesting how much player development has changed and how much bigger the staff is when it comes to preparing these prospects for the pro game.

Not all of them are going to be NHL players, but look at how many players who have been called up mid-season that ended up becoming regulars with the team: Slava Voynov, Alec Martinez, Jake Muzzin, Dwight King, Jordan Nolan, Martin Jones, Tanner Pearson, Tyler Toffoli.

That's a lot of names that have come through the ranks who didn't feel like they were rushed or forced into a spot where they are destined to fail, unlike in the past where the team tried to force a square through a round hole, like what they tried to do with Teddy Purcell and Matt Moulson when they were trying to be converted into checkers.

No way is McNabb being sent down. He may sit a lot as the #7, but no way is he waived.

Yep, that ticket to Manchester is slated for Schultz, I'm sure. I think we've speculated as much as to why he got a 2 year deal. Makes him a little less appealing to grab off of waivers. Schultz played 7 NHL games last yeah, all in the playoffs. If he gets waived, he's likely not going to get claimed.

Who is sent down then? Schultz gets my vote.

Schultz, Cracknell...

and 50/50 on Pearson...

Back to the Rob Blake stuff... he needs to be teaching butt-checks in the preseason workouts... I want to see Slava lay someone out with a hip check this year!

Can't wait for the season to start!!!

Pearson sent down?

That is crazy talk.
