Think back to the first few months of the 2015-16 season when Jeff Carter and Tyler Toffoli were carrying the Los Angeles Kings, while Anze Kopitar was struggling.

But all that changed after Christmas, when Kopitar turned on the jets, and still hasn't shut them off.

How much has Kopitar's offensive production increased? What do his teammates and his head coach think about what he's done this season? What impact did Kopitar's contract situation have on him?

For (mostly) exclusive comments, including from Kopitar himself, check out...

thx, nice read, pumped me up a bit. imo this regular season was pretty standard for kopi. i did notice some little improvements over the last years, just small tweaks in his game really, his ankles got a bit stronger, his overall stamina is a bit better, stuff like that, also mentally he made an important step with his contract. imo he'll explode in the playoffs, i just hope sutter will feed him with the right linemates. too often this season the best offensive tandem was kopi & drew, somehow it worked well, then it got better when looch joined the party, but still i can only guess who will play with kopi & looch in the playoffs.

Good article, Gann. Hopefully those who just rag on points can cool their jets from now on.
