He got injured against the Islanders. He barely played against the Rangers. There was no contact in the Rangers game of note. You can't be this obtuse.

Doesn't have to be contact to get injured, not for knees...how do you not know this?

But the point is..you know this AFTER THE FACT.....he came back after injury in the Isles game and played....at that point, you have NO IDEA IF HE'S INJURED, HURT, OR DYING....you know he came back and played, you know the next game is against a top opponent, and one of your best Dmen, is available....

SHOW ME A TEAM WHO WILL SIT HIM not knowing the future..just show me one....please.

You've never heard of aggravating an injury? Making something worse because you overdo it? He could have had a minor strain to his knee that got worse because he didn't take a day off and became a longer term injury than it had to be.

Every single other team than the Kings would have sat him for one game, yes.

They missed the train on Turcotte, and with Fagemo apparently not at the top of the list, what options do they have? There is nobody to recall from Ontario that's even remotely close to ready.

Blake emptied the coffers too early on a fools errand to chase a Cup that Kopitar and Doughty are too old to catch. First round picks used on supporting players in Fiala and Gavrikov, not to mention a sure-fire top pairing defender. Depth sacrificed for Dubious.

I kept saying that everything had gone right for the Kings over the first quarter of the season abd that the real test would be handling adversity - which has been a weakness in the team for damn near a decade now. Its going to be a tough winter and how well they adjust will determine if they can get home ice and maybe into the second round - which is the ONLY acceptable outcome this season.
Too early to see how they will handle adversary. Kings depth will be tested with injuries.

Ok....show me then, every other team, show me sitting a guy who for all intents and purposes presented as fine.....

Well, its 80% of the same players with the same coach, so its not too difficult to project similar results.

And those results aren't really all that bad, just less than what's needed based on the contracts and asset list. There must be progress this year.

Oh no, you're not moving the goalposts. You said Gavrikov. But I'll humor you. Check the roster of all 31 other teams and if there's a guy who hasn't played every game and only missed a couple, there you go.

Re Gav - if they test the knee manually for stability and it passes.. then the trainers have to rely on the player's input. Knowing Gav he said "im fine" when he was probably in pain and thought he could play through it. There is no knee protocol like there is for head shots.

The trainers aren't doctors for sure.

Your point is still well taken.. maybe they should do an mri on a knee even if the player says he's fine after a hit like that. Similar to the head shot protocol... tough to do on the road - but working with the home teams medical staff its doable.

Check again, I didn't move f***all, I asked from the very first, show me a team that does that...and you haven't....so wait...Lizotte, he only missed a couple...so they sat him down to prevent further injury.....well no...then there goes that f***ing theory....

Someone explain to me how this forward corps would be worse than the one we currently have:

Moore-Kopitar-Kempe
Fiala-Byfield-Vilardi
Laferriere-Danault-Kaliyev
Grundstrom-Lizotte-Lewis
i don't think we have the current form of QB if he's playing 2nd line center matchups, maybe even so if he's getting 3rd line matchups. i think him being allowed to blossom on kopi's wing is exactly what he needs right now, so i think this is a bit of a tainted hindsight argument

as much as i like to dream about a world without PLD on our roster, we're stuck with him so you gotta make the best of it. todd just needs to unf*** the bottom 6 by going back to the lizotte/lewis/grundstrom line instead of forcing grundstrom in the 3rd line. no reason now that you have lizotte back.

I said everyone except the Kings. And you should take a breather. You sound like you're out of breath with your typing.

"They try too hard and will tire themselves out before the playoffs.". - PLD (probably)

When our horses get out and run they are as good as anyone in the league. Put them on a track with a leprechaun when the other cup contenders have jockeys and you see have what we have.

Question is....whose call was it? agreed tmac should never have played him knowing his importance but if Gavrikov being a warrior insisted he wanted to play would be hard to say no.
Todd listed game management as a problem last night, so was he saying he f***ed up?

We have more cap room with that one that’s for damn sure.

at this point I would probably just go back to how we started the season

Byfield-Kopitar-Kempe
Moore-Danault-Kaliyev/Laf
Fiala-PLD-Kaliyev-Laf
Grundstrom-lizotte-Lewis

I want to see this 100%. Give PLD and Fiala time to get their preseason groove back and I will fully concede any line mate argument should PLD continue to under produce and suck donkey balls.

For the record though, I think in that situation, he'll put up more points, but still draw ire due to his lackadaisical and no effort style.

I think Fox mentioned it generally takes around 40 games for a new player to adjust to a new system.

I didn't even know there was a narrative he didn't want to sign.

But just a reminder that PLD is Blake and Robitaille's former agent as well as friend, as the Kings paid a premium to get a player out of a situation he didn't want to be in, and that player's agent has ties with management.

Do I think that's the only reason they got him? Of course not. But I think, even if they "needed" center depth, the relationship bumped him up in the priority.
