Yup. He's our Captain
I hope he adds they should never ever go to HFBoards or read Facebook comments on the Sabres page.

Because people question the actions of the front office? That's thin sauce man. We are part of the community that wants the team to win or else we wouldn't be here, we wouldn't be parsing out what they have or have not done. It's disingenuous to say people are not passionate about wanting them to win, just as Okie said.
I think he just meant that it can be draining to see your name talked about all over social media. God forbid Portillo or Johnson reading our commentsBecause people question the actions of the front office? That's thin sauce man. Don't take it personally. Be honest - there is a LOT of doom and gloom around here.
I'd rather the players get their honest and constructive feedback from their development coaches and not from random posters here - including myself.
But again I'm just kidding anyway.
'Aight. We are still part of the community of Sabre fans and want the team to succeed.

There are definitely players that actively avoid social media during the season, can't remember who but have heard interviews saying that's pretty common.
I doubt most of them are on these sort of platforms. The players who I know have been, much like the actual press folks who used to be here, were driven off a long time ago. And honestly, can you blame them?
Just not a fan of sweeping generalities directed at a community that I have been a part of for decades now.
Decades? I mean, I know you predate me on here by several years, but it hasn't been that long...stop making me feel old!
I think the one common theme all of us share is that we are passionate about this team, and we want nothing more than to see them playing meaningful hockey games in April and May again. We might have different opinions at times on how to get there, but we all essentially want the same end result, even if some people may come off as more negative than others. If I didn't like a majority of you guys I wouldn't keep coming here. The majority are good natured and reasonable. Even the ones with whom I disagree (like yourself or @Jim Bob occasionally) just have differences of opinions on certain things. We all want the team to succeed and we've all suffered through a lot for a long long time so that makes us all part of this craziness. Plus we're the most passionate because good or bad, win or lose, happy or sad, we still come here and care.
Still some are just a little too miserable all the time for me but maybe we can all be happy someday - after we win the Cup.

I know plenty of people have issues with BS & Biz, but this conversation with Okposo was really enlightening. Especially when it comes to both the Eichel situation and the really bad head injury Okposo dealt with a few years ago and the changes he has made because of it.

I listened to the entire Okposo segment. Really good stuff.
"Lindsay identified a spot inside Okposo's mouth and massaged it"
Everything Biz does is an act. He knew exactly what he was doing before ripping Buffalo apart. He's a troll but he did most of that on purpose.I was actually pleasantly surprised by Biz. I don't necessarily have an issue with him, but was expecting him to take a couple of jabs at the Sabres to razz Okposo a little or get a reaction. Instead he was the exact opposite and seemed very complimentary of the Sabres, the city and some of the young players.

His injury triggered an extreme manic episode, the injury appeared minor from a physical standpoint. Okposo said "I literally lost my mind".
Okposo didn't sleep for 6 straight days when the injury first occurred.
He had never had mental health issues before this.
Okposo was put on a cocktail of anti-psychotics, anti-depressants, tranquilizers etc. So that he could sleep, but he knew their was still something physically wrong despite doctors not being able to find anything.
After about 8 weeks Okposo was able to see Dr Mark Lindsay, a renowned Soft tissue specialist/Chiropractor who treats elite athletes.
Lindsay identified a spot inside Okposo's mouth and massaged it and made chiropractic adjustments to his neck for an hour and half and it relieved Okposo's physical symptoms, which included seizures.
Okposo still continues his mental health treatment to this day and maintains a strict routine in his lifestyle to combat mental health setbacks.
I mean that's a tough area to navigate. Put yourself in his shoes. Jack is someone he considers a friend, not a former teammate who wanted to have a specific surgery. I think a lot of players sympathize with Jack on that. You can be a leader and a good team player while not always agreeing with the teams decisions, especially those by the medical staff. He seems to sympathize with Jack a little more than i would have expected. Obviously he believes the right for Jack or any player to have medical autonomy.
Yep. While I don’t necessarily disagree with the Sabres stance, I think the decision didn’t sit well with players around the league. I would have to think we’re experiencing some of the fallout now with players not wanting to waive NTCs and such.I mean that's a tough area to navigate. Put yourself in his shoes. Random posters? Most of these people have been here for years and are heavily invested in the team.Don't take it personally. Be honest - there is a LOT of doom and gloom around here.
