No GM has ever done less with more than Dubas but despite a half decade of accomplishing absolutely NOTHING, he was being handed a multi million dollar multi year deal to remain as GM.

After getting absolutely fleeced in negotiations for Pyjama Boy, Marner, Matthews and Nylander, it’s hilariously fitting that Dubas somehow found a way to screw up his own contract negotiations.

Just like the laughably incompetent Gord Stellick, Dubas will be a joke for years.

It's called leverage, the leafs had none and have none now again. Matthews gonna get a record contract with short term or walk for nothing. This team is gonna get worse before it gets better.

The Darkest Timeline
- Nylanders deal is a good deal.
- You can argue against the signing, but he convinced JT to take 2m less than what he was offered elsewhere.
- Some might disagree, but a player like Matthews has all the negotiating power. Just like McDavid, Mackinnon, and past Crosby. It's pretty much up to the player if they want to take a discount or not.
- His biggest mistake is not going with the apparent 8x8 offer from Marners camp the year before his breakthrough. He should've taken the risk at the time and signed that.
