Listening to the Dangle podcast, the impression you get is Dubas is not respected by his peers around the league. He is this nerdy spreadsheet outsider among old guard NHL vets, almost a jocks vs nerd cliche. Dangle's source told him the league sees the Leafs waiver claim issue as a joke and do it to keep it going and mess with him. Then you have a GM leaking his trade interactions with Dubas and torpedoeing contract talks with Knies, which shows a lack of respect. Add that to the league's double standard when it comes to Leafs suspensions for/against and consistently being at the bottom of the league in penalties drawn despite the speed and puck possession, and it makes it quite an uphill battle. Not necessarily his fault, it is what it is, but bullying is just a party of doing business.

They all probably laughed their asses off when Dubas never stood up for his franchise talent being unjustly suspended for 2 games too.

Thank you. That's all I was hoping to see is you acknowledge that Armstrong said what he said, as I said he did.

Not sure where you saw that. I think the wording makes it arguable, your opinion on the matter is simply that.

Dubie has done a brutal job elevating the team he inherited , sad his fan club can't see how without elite play from Mathews and Mitch this team would be no where .

He has a 1/4 of our cap tied up on players that are either regressing JT/Muzzin or crap Mzarek yet his supporters still think he's the all time goat GM , truly shocking how defending the GM is more important than wanting what's best for the team .
Yep, for a GM strapped against the cap, blowing $6.5mil on Mrazek and Ritchie is just brutal allocation of money.

Dubas likes to carry himself as if he's above everyone , his schtick got him a GM gig but unfortunately i doubt the rest the GM's buy it . The worst part is how hard he tries to promote himself as an intellectual , to bad going to Brock for sports mgmt is only one step above getting a on line degree from a school no one's heard of .

Since not many gems are typically unearthed via the waiver wire IMO, I don't see that as much of an issue. I didn't care much for Dubas mentioning what he did about waiver claims during his post TDL presser though. The simple answer to being assured of not losing a player via waivers is to not subject him to them in the first place. Realistically, all teams are bound by roster limits and waivers do provide a relatively inexpensive option to add someone in a time or area of need.

That’s just nonsense imo. Teams are not burning contract spots and their owners money as a joke on another GM

oh they most definitely hate him. he threatens everything they believe in.

that's why they hilariously just voted Lou GM of the year back to back.

6th overall in a 32 team league is a low bar? I mean I expect the obvious “iF yOuR nOt FiRsT yOuR LaSt” Reese Bobby bullshit, but that’s really really high quality company.
None of that changes the fact that we are tied with the first wildcard team and only a handful of points ahead of being the last wildcard team so in the context of the division we are in so yes it’s a low bar.
also I think we are tied for 8th

1pt out of 2nd is a low bar?

No, but tied for the first wildcard spot and only 3 points ahead of the last wildcard spot is a low bar………both of our positions are true.
what separates them is the fact that the Leafs have been trending down and the bruins have been trending up.

Bs are red hot for sure. They're an excellent team. They're on a 12-2-1 run.

Still haven't caught the leafs, tho.

Also, I don’t see how the leak of the proposed Hagel & Fleury trade torpedos anything with Knies. Clearly we value him if we wouldn’t make the deal for quality players with him in it, but it’s not like that gives him any leverage. This guy is still getting an ELC

When there's so little to legitimately dislike about him, some have to go to pretty ridiculous lengths.

The latest:

Steve Dangle thinks other GMs are mean to Dubas
Bruins caught up to us and Tampa and is 1 point out of second and that's low
Kyle promotes himself too much and the school he went to isn't impressive and basically an online degree no ones heard of

I didn't really follow what was going on with Chicago. Did the leak say the Leafs offered Knies or that Chicago wanted him?

I think the reason the deal didn’t go through was the inclusion of Knies. Adding Mrazek in the deal, I think it was rumoured to cost 2 1sts and Knies.

But who knows. I could be wrong on that.

For sure and I hope they never do. I have a very good friend that is a Boston fan and he has been grinding me the last few weeks as Boston draws closer…….
