Well, people say Kuzmenko isn't proven but look at what Boldy gets after less than 100 games. And Kuzmenko is a better player right now and for a few next seasons at the very least. And he's UFA not RFA...

For context, Kuzmenko is on pace for a season of 74 points with 33 goals and about 20 PP points. He plays predominantly with Pettersson and Mikheyev and gets 1st unit PP time as a net front presence.

Great offensive skills, good hockey IQ, but not the fastest skater or best defensive player.

Boldy is also 5 years younger, and in his 2nd full year of pro hockey while Kuzmenko is in his 7th… Not the greatest comparison

Exactly so he could get shorter contract for less money because he had so many years ahead. But they gave him 7x7 after less than 100 NHL games. I bet Kuzmenko's agent will mention these reasons during negotiations...

A three year deal puts Kuz at an awkward age when he hits UFA. Nobody gives tons of money and tons of term to a 30 year old UFA, relative to what they’re worth.

Vancouver will sign him 7 years at $6.14 million per. I suppose the years or amount could change. And also it could be another team if he is traded
