This is just an absolutely abysmal take.Brzustewicz went from putting up 92 points in 67 games in the OHL to 15 point in 42 games in the AHL. The guy the Flames drafted with the 1st seems to be having an underwhelming D+1 year as well.
It really looks like a lose-lose to me.
Not only is it vastly easier to score as one of the older players in the OHL, but he was playing 1st pair and first powerplay. In the AHL he's one of the youngest players in the entire league with a November birthday and is not playing on the powerplay. How often do defensemen just take over the AHL at barely 20 years old?
As for Gridin, he's 8th in the league in scoring and leading his team
