Oh I know, it's just always funny how someone will have a hot start and a crowd here will be so quick to rank them much higher than they deserve.

Last year it was Jack hughes being the" 2nd best forward after Mcdavid " This season is kaprizov being the 'most dynamic player after mcdavid". Lot of the same posters too.

Those guys are both amazing BTW, just neither are top 5
Kaprizov is definitely more legit than Hughes ever was though and playing on Minnesota has probably lowered his numbers up until this year.

Kucherov having a great season, Draisaitl playing Like a 2 way beast and leading in goals, McDavid has been activated, have fun on the way down Kaprisov, Necas and company 😆

Do you try to prove that McDavid and Point are better than Rossi or anybody Kaprizov plays with? I think you don't need to prove it, everybody and his granny knows it without any proves...

I know we're having fun here but Kaprizov does have a top 5 PPG over the course of last 4 seasons and is finally playing on a team that has a bit more scoring than just him.

We'll see if he keeps it up, but there was a time Kucherov was discussed as one of these "hot start" guys that would fade away.
So he might be a top 10 forward.

McDavid, Mackinnon, Kuch, Drai, and matthews all clear by a lot.

Then you have the Pastrnak, Barkov, Panarin, Tkachuk, Rantanen , etc. Tier which he's in

I was going to post a joke on Calgary, but they are currently ranked 14th, right above Bruins and Lightning. Quite a surprise, I've got used for them being somewhere in the bottom.

This guys just consistently gets it done but the media still underrates him. Art Ross race is going to be incredible again, McDavid and Kucherov have given the rest of the league a chance from missing time with injuries but I wouldn’t be surprised if the top 3 was the same as last year in a different order.
It's because he goes about it so quietly. Like a ninja on the ice you don't even know he's there and the next thing you know he's dropping dimes where you least expect it.

But seriously, underrated? He's pretty widely considered a top 3 forward in the league, isn't he?

Reply to me when Kaprizov plays with players of the same caliber of Point and Guentzel.
Meh, we've seen time and time again that Kucherov is padding the rest of the team's stats, not the other way around. Can you guess which season Kucherov didn't play:

Tampa Bay Lightning ppg players:

2018-19: 3
2019-20: 2
2020-21: 0
2021-22: 3
2022-23: 3
2023-24: 3

These things never work one way. You can reply to me once Kaprizov play with a six-time Norris Trophy finalist.

Insane. MacKinnon and Kucherov are really not going to let McDavid have easy Art Ross trophies, huh?
Nope and that’s what makes it great. When all things are considered (scoring levels) what Kucherov did last year was perform at peak Crosby small sample level for a whole season. MacKinnon was right there too while Draisaitl has proven that his best seasons are better for overall production than the best of Malkin and Ovechkin.

McDavid essentially has the steepest art Ross competition for world number 1 player status that we have ever seen.

Tampa fans you are lucky. Don’t take a player that can operate at this level for granted. He is one of three guys in the league that have reached a level at least once that I am personally very fond of (late 90s Jagr) and beyond in McDavid’s case. Easily one of my favorite players to watch. Only player I have higher is McDavid and the fact that he can win scoring titles against him speaks volumes.

That's not true at all though. Peak Crosby would be 2010-13, where this was the points per game breakdown.

Crosby 1.61
Malkin 1.20
Stamkos 1.16
St Louis 1.13
Sedin 1.05

The scoring environment is much friendlier to top scorers now. There were 29! Ppg+ players last year and 9! 100+ scorers. During that Crosby peak only one player averaged 100+ per 82 games, and that's Crosby. It's a night and day difference in scoring environment.
