Avs will likely be moving on from Burakovsky this summer due to contract demands, and Kubalik seems like a suitable replacement at a cheaper cap hit. What would the Hawks be looking for in a deal like this?
There were rumors at the trade deadline that the Blackhawks wanted to get a 2nd round pick for him. I don't know what his price is in the offseason.

There’s a chance Kubalik isn’t qualified by the hawks. So he might become free to sign.
If he gets qualified by the hawks my guess is a mid round pick gets a deal done.

Kubalik is very interesting for Colorado, but they play in the same division and the price will be increase for that.
the only way I can see Kubalik to Colorado is if Chicago don't signed him

I disagree with the division tax if one team is rebuilding and one team is in win now it should not matter. I am not saying it does not happen, just that it shouldn't when the two teams are at opposite ends of the spectrum.
Hawks should be asking for top amount from anyone who is willing, if the only team willing is the Avs they should do it.

Kaut not upgrade his game since he was draft.
Not enough for Kubalik.
Chicago are in rebuilding mode and Kaut 22years old just take a place in AHL that another player with more upside can take
More upside? That's not necessarily true. He's had limited opportunity. If he finds the right situation and a team that's willing to give him a proper opportunity, he could still be a good player. He probably needs a change of scenery.

Kubalik is probably getting non-tendered. He will likely be a UFA.
Didn't realise he'd fallen out of favour that much.

Would something around JT Compher ($3.5mx1) for Kubalik (RFA) be unrealistic? I suppose Chicago would prefer a draft pick but maybe they'd see value in Compher as a hometown player who they could either re-sign or flip at next year's deadline instead of just letting Kubalik walk to UFA.

I was kind of surprised Chicago didnt move Kubalik at the deadline if they have no plans on resigning him .

maybe they can move him in the offseason if a team is interested in a sign and trade scenerio

That’s an easy no from this Hawks fan. Not interested in Compher at all.

Compher to Kubalik doesn't seem like much of an upgrade unless you're putting a lot of weight on the 30 goal season where Kubalik was shooting at 20%.

What do you think Kubalik is worth?
A draft pick rather than a player that’s not all that great. I’m not a fan of Compher at all. I view him as a mild cap dump. I get at that point he’s on a 1-year deal but I’d match rather have a 3rd round pick or whatever than Compher.
