I don´t know about you guys, but I feel like we´re in for a surprise this year from Mr. Krejci. He´s at the perfect, mature age to peak, he´s seen the ups and downs of the NHL, and you couldn´t ask for better line-mates. I get the feeling he´s about to have a career year.

Hopefully, but I'm not so sure 2008-09 wasn't his breakout year and now what you see is what you get.

There are later bloomers though, Marc Savard being one of the more notables so you never know. I believe that to be the exception though, not the rule. Breakout seasons in which point totals are elevated signifcantly tend to occur before age 25. If the guy can finally manage to get things going consistently on the PP then it's possible.

Not that there is anything wrong with Krejci knocking down 60-70 points a year. In the absense of a true #1 center a combination of two 60-70 point centers is the next best thing.

I think at this point he is what you see. Good player, certainly happy to have him on the team, but he's not the elite, consistent player some folks want to make him out to be.

His upside is 75 points and decent 2way player with an improved PP something Boston has lacked for years who knows:thumbu:

Krejci's 17th in points and 10th in assists among all NHL centers the last 4 years combined. Not bad for a number 2!! At 26 years old he has about 3 years to put up his best season, based on historical peaks.

I stand corrected- he's a below average #1 center

He's not going to be Savard or Thornton or Oates, so fans need to set appropriate expectations. So much of the Bruins strategy involves balance and being tough to play against. Any team can stack a line with their three best forwards, but it's a no brainer for the opponent to counter with a checking line. If you have one scoring line, you're easy to beat. If you have three lines that can score then you're almost impossible to match up against.

If the KHL line serves to create opportunities for the second and third lines, then their own production numbers are deceiving and value difficult to gauge.

People have been expecting a breakout year from Krejci ever since his 73 point season. He is what he is at this point IMO. Still a very good player. Bergeron and Horton are at a similar point in their careers.

I could possibly see him scoring at a PPG clip over 48 games if he clicks with Horton and Lucic from the get go. The same could probably be said for most top-6 forwards on a good teams.

One, If goals per game continue to go down I doubt Krejci will hit a PPG.

Two, goals scored isn't infinite it's finite. In Basketball when you put two 30ppg scorers on the same team they don't continue to score 30ppg, one scores less or they both score 25ppg. The same applies to hockey, their can only be one 'guy' one person who leads the offence. I think Seguin will be the PPG player on the Bruins before Krejci will and because of the nature of the Bruins offence Krejci will see less offensive situations.

He's a good player. No question. I honestly don't want him on the first PP unit though, because I don't think his game is suited for that situation.

I agree. I think he's going to take that next step and be PPG player this year. Healthy Horton. Higher pressure games. I think they will improve the power play - especially if he plays the point with Chara.

If Spooner shows he's NHL ready while DK is still a Bruin, I'll take the guy who dishes quickly over a guy who holds onto the puck at half speed 8 days a week on the PP

Doubt Krejci has a breakout year as he'll have to carry two out-of-gameshape wingers at the start of the season.

If he is passing to Seguin, then yes, he will have a break out year.

After 73 points in 08-09 he has put up 52 p, 62 p, and 62 p in the three seasons since. He obviously had a marvelous post-season on the way to the cup, but he has just been too inconsistent during the regular season to really believe that this will be the year he puts it all together. Maybe having the short season will help, where it is more of a sprint, and he needs to bring a sense of urgency to the rink everyday, but I don't know. I think on a good team (which the Bruins are) he's a better than average #2 center. If the flashes that he shows from time to time ever become his norm, then he is a decent #1 center, but he is by no means a franchise type #1 center. He has the talent in him to be close to a point a game player, but I am just unconvinced that he is ever going to put it all together for a full season.

I think he is in his prime now. Nothing wrong with 60-70 points a year. Not going to get greedy. I thiink Horton's health determines where he finishes in scoring this year.

Although, I'm not going to complain if he gets 70-80 :)

Judging by the numbers, you could say that about pretty much every Bruin that has manned the PP over the past few years.

That had to be the crappiest video highlight package for a player I've ever watched.

For those that think he is what you get or that want to trade him - I think he is a very similar player to H. Sedin at the same age and point in their respective careers. I doubt Krejci hits the same heights but I would not at all be surprised, actually expect, that he will be at least a PPG player for the next 4-5 years.

What we have is a top 15 center. People want a top 5 and he's not far.
