Confirmed Trade: [NYR/ANA] Chris Kreider and 2025 4th for Carey Terrance and 2025 3rd

Streets are saying the 'prospect' involved is Carey Terrance. Looks like a total flop of a 2nd rounder from a couple years ago.

20 year old F in the OHL who's not even PPG or Top5 on his team in scoring.

Not that I was expecting anything of real value for Kreider, esp @ his full salary.
He played the entire season 19, he just turned 20 last month.

He was also injured for 1/3 of the season so that explains why he wasnt top 5.

Lots of stat watching going on in here. Terrance isn't a guy who's gonna score 50 let alone 30, he's more of a cogliano. A burner who kills penalties that you can trust in all situations. He also had injury issues last year. He had a good showing for team USA at the world Jrs when they won gold.

Why would kreider fetch an elite prospect? He was horrible last year.

Anaheim has the cap room to make this never an issue for them. Gave up basically nothing. Improved. People saying Verbeek is an idiot are clueless.
Verbeek might be on the rangers payroll, this is the 2nd time he’s bailed them out without getting anything extra to take in their contracts

Kreider was absolutely awful last year. Gave up on the team and pouted when Drury traded Trouba. Can't imagine how much he's going to pout now being traded. Wait till Duck fans see the "effort" he gives out there.

He's getting players he likes for extremely cheap. We know there was at least one other team who offered positive value for Trouba too, so that minimal amount is what he needed to offer to get the deal done.

Prospect and Pick going to NYR and ducks taking on the full salary.

Drury wins again!

Eh. As much as I want him out for locker room reasons, I dont thinks he's cooked yet.

Back spasms reported early in the season and we just found out recently he was playing with a lower arm injury.

I'd bet he bounces back. Its just a matter of motivation. Physically he's still a top 6 winger on most teams. Spasms can be dealt with good PT and time off. The arm thing same. I belive his drive to compete was more emotional baggage than pain.

It can be a win/win.
It could be a loss if the prospect is a nobody AHL body and the pick is low.

I dont see "cap dump" as equal value for him.

Not exactly cheap. Most teams would get value back for taking a contact like Kreiders. Kreider and his contract are a net negative and the Ducks are giving up assets for him.

Probably one of the few that can make a fair assessment. Since I watch all the Rangers and Ducks games.

If Kreider has a season anywhere between last and his previous before that , it’s a win for the Ducks.

You can call him a shitty player all you want or be happy(as a Rangers fan) that he is being moved. But he fits a need for the Ducks.

Since they got Trouba Ducks have been a better team than the Rangers this year but they didn’t have the elite talent like a Panarin or Fox to really make much noise. Some of their young players are hopefully developing into elite or ASG caliber players. Kreider just going to help support the kids like Carlsson and Gauthier who made a lot of noise at the WC.

Don't see how motivated he will be after being traded. He wanted to end his career in NY. Now he's moving across the country.

Like the Trouba one? Since that trade , Ducks were tending up, Rangers trending down. Only 5 points separated them, and Rangers had a lot more skill and an elite goalie .

this point is meaningless lol

I would hope that a young team would look a bit better than an old team that clearly quit

also, it was half a season worth of games. Hardly anything to draw huge conclusions on either way.
