Well, good to see you back. We could use you here more regularly--need some more people with takes that aren't flaming hot and aren't reiterated 37 times over in each thread.Been around and lurking, just don't post as often these days.

So who is on your short list for new owner?Insanity is doing the same thing over again and expecting different results. How in the world, did management not learn there lessons from Tony D? Waited till the last straw, once it broke, he became untradeable and we got nothing for him. 8 months later and we are in the exact same spot. These guys are incompetent.
Gordie Clark, Glen Sather, Chris Drury, James Dolan...
We need new ownership and new management. Drury hurt us as a player and now he's doing it as a GM. Go back to Buffalo!
NoDrury better be dialing up Doug Wilson's phone to inquire about Hertl. Kravstov could definitely be the main piece to getting Hertl.
That might actually be a silver lining.Even if they get back a 1st, this stinks. He is the Rangers third best forward prospect behind Laf and Kakko. Whoever they draft likely won’t factor for at least 5 years.
I was thinking this too, to go for the bigger guys in the game vs the Caps. With Kravy out, others move up. And the lineup for the Caps and most likely the Stars (their a heavy team also),... is not what we will see in the weeks ahead. They are going top heavy for those two games,... while keeping their options open for those who can't clear waivers,.. hoping to make some late breaking deal.
Again, on the surface, I’m not sure what else the Rangers could have done. Kravtsov was injured most of the pre-season. Unless the Rangers messaging was poor - which is possible.Frankly, I don't think either side did themselves any favors.
Part of the challenge right now is that we have a scenario where they don't want to put Kreider on the third line (to the point of experimenting with him on the right side), they have a bunch of guys who are in that maybe third line category already in Blais, Goodrow, Gauthier, Barron, and even Chytil until a spot frees up.
At some point, if that's the approach, you just run out of viable options to play Kravtsov.
Other factors aside, this wouldn't have been my approach anyway. But that's a whole other conversation.
Krav should be the 2RW. Kreider should be the 3rd line LW with Chytil and Blais. Goodrow should be on the 4th lineI dunno, based on what I saw in preseason the wing depth chart is probably:
Panarin
Lafreniere
Kakko
Kreider
Goodrow
Blais
Hunt / Gauthier / Kravtsov all close with Hunt and Gauthier a nudge ahead
Who does the Kravster think he should've slotted in front of, exactly? He's top 9 on some teams, possibly top 6 on a few but he's exactly where he's supposed to be with this organization. The AHL.
yeah it’s not a good look for him. You want to weed these type of people out.
though if he ends up blossoming somewhere else it’s going to make keeping Kreider look even worse than it already does.
Thanks for asking. What would've been your approach? Asking for a friend. Actually, actually on behalf of the entire board, who respects you.
Krav should be the 2RW. Kreider should be the 3rd line LW with Chytil and Blais. Goodrow should be on the 4th line
Panarin-Strome-Kakko
Laf-Zib-Krav
Kreider-Chytil-Blais
Goodrow-Rooney-Goth
That should be our lineup.
At first you get exited, then you remember we got Blais and 2nd for Buch.
Yes. He is clearly an incredibly talented player, and I can’t blame him for feeling sleighted and insulted. The guy who's scored 2 career NHL goals and has had a "meh" camp is slotting next to your 8.5M #1 center? Based on what?
Goodrow should be on the 3rd line. Kreider on 2nd. Kravtsov is where he belongs.
Yep. Same with the de Angelo thing. This is the job of a Team President. We seem to suck at reading the road ahead. Here's my thing, I'm not even talking about catering.
If this type of reaction is still a concern, after everything that already happened, then you make a pro-active move.
We apparently like to deal with volatile situations. That's fine, but then you can't keep chasing after situations. At some point you try to maximize value, even if it' not ideal, BEFORE the shit hits the fan.
Don't get me wrong, I really like how Blais played during the pre-season. Still think that's bad value for Buch.Gonna save this post and come back to it when Blais finishes the year 35-65-100.
Goodrow was third among forwards in TOI for a cup winning team. Kravstov scored a tap in during preseason. I like him as a prospect but in no just world is he two lines above Goodrow based on anything logicalKrav should be the 2RW. Kreider should be the 3rd line LW with Chytil and Blais. Goodrow should be on the 4th line
Panarin-Strome-Kakko
Laf-Zib-Krav
Kreider-Chytil-Blais
Goodrow-Rooney-Goth/Reaves
That should be our lineup.
You really should stop misrepresenting what I said because it doesn’t fit your narrative.
At first you get exited, then you remember we got Blais and 2nd for Buch.
Again, on the surface, I’m not sure what else the Rangers could have done. Kravtsov was injured most of the pre-season. Unless the Rangers messaging was poor - which is possible.
But materially, the other options are gifting him a top nine role and rostering him and sitting him in the press box. Kravtsov spending a few weeks on the top line in Hartford is completely reasonable.
