The agent better have some good leads because he just took on responsibility for this kid’s whole career with this stunt.
Not according to Gallant's presser. He said flatly they outplayed Kravy for a spot. And we all know Blais is a crash and bang guy. Led the team in hits this preseason. He is not Kravy's competition.I think all those guys were competing for different spots than Kravtsov. Those are 4th liners and the spare forward. You think after all we've heard that Kravtsov would have been happy to "make the team" on the 4th line or be a spare forward? Not to mention that Gallant and management have been clear they want that 4th line to be a crash and bang physical in your face line.
Kravtsov's competition ended up being Blais and Blais won the spot
The moment we traded Buch for Blais' VK lost that battle. Blais' spot was never in question. The team identified Blais as what they wanted before the Buch trade and had him pegged for line 3. HF had other ideas but Drury had plans. The 4th line wasn't the place for VK either. So really it was Kravtsov versus Gathier for 13th forward/being used to give players a rest or covering for an injury. VK doesn't fit that role + Gathier outplayed him, hence why he was sent down. That's a way more realistic discussion than Kravtsov vs. Blais which was a landslide loss for VK months ago.
We can’t all be board standouts like @Thirty OneSounds like my HFNYR career
We'll see what happens here.
No energy to his game , move on
I didn't wanna bring this up but the cat's out of the bag now: I couldn't be less excited about what I've seen so far from him.
He's just there.
then why is Blais the guy on the third line where Kravtsov was and Hunt is the 4th line and Gauthier the 13th FNot according to Gallant's presser. He said flatly they outplayed Kravy for a spot. There may be interest, yes, but what's being offered? A 2nd and a bag of pucks most likely.Hold on to your seats when you see whatever the return is. I am personally guaranteeing massive disappointment.
Unimpressive in Russia (IMO), unimpressive in Hartford, unimpressive everywhere.
Yep. And we can certainly debate Kreider’s best spot in the lineup. But it’s not like the team buried Kravtsov. He had chances and obviously more chances would materialize. The player got injured at a very inopportune time. But everyone was optimistic on his future. This seems extremely impatient and pretty misguided. Unless there’s more going on behind the scenes. On the surface, this seems extremely counterproductive on VK’s part.Part of the challenge right now is that we have a scenario where they don't want to put Kreider on the third line (to the point of experimenting with him on the right side), they have a bunch of guys who are in that maybe third line category already in Blais, Goodrow, Gauthier, Barron, and even Chytil until a spot frees up.
At some point, if that's the approach, you just run out of viable options to play Kravtsov.
Other factors aside, this wouldn't have been my approach anyway. But that's a whole other conversation.
Insanity is doing the same thing over again and expecting different results. How in the world, did management not learn there lessons from Tony D? Waited till the last straw, once it broke, he became untradeable and we got nothing for him. 8 months later and we are in the exact same spot. These guys are incompetent.
Gordie Clark, Glen Sather, Chris Drury, James Dolan...
We need new ownership and new management. Drury hurt us as a player and now he's doing it as a GM. Go back to Buffalo!
And, if he feels he is being mistreated, he can withhold services. They can in-turn withhold his pay. So long as he understands that consequence. Right now, his agent is free to seek a trade. Hartford's season starts friday. They have 3 days to find something. He signed a contract, he owes his employers (the club) the terms of that contract as well as following NHLPA rules. If he was worried about the pay disparity or lack of a guarantee, he should have stayed where he was. You are correct, in a right to work environment one can leave at will (respecting valid NDAs and compete clauses). These are 2 different employment models.

With Kravy out, others move up. And the lineup for the Caps and most likely the Stars (they're a heavy team also),... is not what we will see in the weeks ahead. They are going top heavy for those two games,... while keeping their options open for those who can't clear waivers,.. hoping to make some late breaking deal.then why is Blais the guy on the third line where Kravtsov was and Hunt is the 4th line and Gauthier the 13th F
This kid would have been called up immediately if any rangers winger in the top 9 got injured and he pulls this bullshit?
Are you kidding me?
