He had to yell at a lot of people carrying them to a Little League World Series victory. Even the coaches. Not that I don’t believe the reports, but I’m having a difficult time visioning Drury yelling at someone. Just never saw him as that kind of guy.
It has to be Disneyfied for drama. He has 76 goals at Game 82, and he scores 77 to break the all-time rookie goals record, earning Drury's respect finally. With Kravtsov making a triumphant return and putting up a 70pt rookie season inspiring a Disney film about how the troubled boy in the Bart Simpson pajamas turned into a New York Ranger legend.
Can someone fill me in on what happened with Drury? Why did he yell at Kravtsov?
Really sounds like Drury is a d-bag to be quite honest. Doesn't shock me either with some of the interviews he's had as a player here.
These are kids. You need to assert yourself properly and know what buttons to push for each kid. Macho man Drury.
This is the the problem with our conversation. Your concern is that Kravtsov doesn't belong or will never reach his potential. When my concern is the team, and its management. This team was weakened, all due to management's maneuvers. This kid payed his dues, when through hell, improved upon his return, and then gets demoted for Libor Hajek. This was management's decision. And now with Kakko out, you have Gallant calling Kravtsov personally to return. You don't see the irony in this? How can the Ranger's Organization be so shortsighted not to see how he was an important piece to this team. And now they are screwed. They will get nothing for him, and the team will be weakened by his absence. And it didn't have to be this way. Maybe he might not have stepped up and been a good replacement for Kakko, but now we will never know, all due to the shortsightedness of their actions.I'd put better odds on his bouncing around to a few teams over the next 3 to 4 years before packing it in and going back to the KHL (just like Pavel Brendl, who had considerably more talent than Kravtsov, and a similar attitude).
Well, you coulda fooled me. Because you cannot grasp this very easy to understand picture,... that continues to strengthen with each passing day, as the team tries to handle the colossal mishandling of a situation that they themselves created. All to protect a Libor Hajek, or a Dryden Hunt?because you were, repeatedly, claiming that I don't understand "logic," and I am literally a specialist in it.
You really think this might put a damper on his Hall of Fame career? Well, my only concern is the immediate future of this club, and how management threw caution to the wind and derailed our chances for a more successful season. You think Shesty will stand on his head, night in, night out? Or that Panarin and Zibad will supply all the scoring we need? We need balance, balance in our lines and Kravtsov would have made a difference. Now opposing teams can concentrate on shutting down the one or two decent lines we have.Barring a MAJOR attitude change, Kravtsov will be lucky to carve out a "Vlad Namestnikov" level NHL career
Tbh if those reports are true, i can understand Kravtsov not wanting to play for Drury. There's a level of "suck it up & deal with it" to any job, but when you get berated in front of the entire rest of the team by the same person, multiple times, I can understand him believing Drury's got a personal issue with him (rightly or wrongly). And at that point, if i'm Kravtsov, i'm not doing you any favors beyond what it takes to get myself out of town quicker.
It's a shitty situation all around, and one that should've been dealt with WELL before it reached this point.
These days people too often tend to take term "yelling at" someone and apply it to simply being scolded, like a parent or boss or anyone with authority simply saying "don't do that" or "don't act like that" is yelling at someone. Not that I don’t believe the reports, but I’m having a difficult time visioning Drury yelling at someone. These players are called kids because they are young relative to other NHLers.Really sounds like Drury is a d-bag to be quite honest. Doesn't shock me either with some of the interviews he's had as a player here.

No, because it's not a bunch of players having a problem with Drury. It's one guy and it's the second time he's pulled a crybaby stunt.

Who would be saying that Drury yelled at Vitali? You think Drury is going to the press and saying yeah I yelled at him and he didn't listen. This shit is coming from Vitali's camp. "He yelled at meeeeeee"
Sounds like half this board posting in gameday threads

They're called kids because have you ever heard a kid? In this case it's applicable. These players are called kids because they are young relative to other NHLers.
Believe it or not, they are actually f***ing adults.
This is some brain dead shit
probably another tantrumNobody else is wondering how and why he missed the team bus when they’re we’re in the f***ing bubble?![]()
I hope the site migration just wipes this thread out.Can someone promise me to update this thread title if anything significant happens, so I don't otherwise have to read it anymore?![]()
We used to call that Good Cop Bad Cop back in the dayI don't think that Gallant reaches out to Kravtsov without Drury's consultation and go-ahead. And it's a smart move to try to utilize someone who doesn't have the acrimonious history with the player.
