is this guy seriously the best we have for that spot? he hasnt impressed me whatsoever. this guy better be destined to the marlies and bring back Gardiner. the guy couldnt even make a pass tonight he's so bad

I think Gardiner should be up, but since Carlyle is obsessed with right handed defensemen on the right side, I think Gards only comes up when Gunnarsson or Fraser sits out. Kostka is kind of in his way, but not really.
 
is the honeymoon with Kostka finally over? I would rather Gardiner up here in his spot as well. If Kostka is sent down I have a feeling a lot of people will be upset... a lot of people have an obsession with the guy who worked his way up to the NHL after so many years in the minors.
 
I don't care which way they shoot, Kostka and Gardiner should not be where they are.

I felt it reached its pinnacle when Joe Bowen was going gaga googoo over the fact Kostka was being honoured by the Aurora Tigers...

He got asked about it between intermissions by Hendrick i Believe... During a game! :deadhorse

Then he should sit, its not like we don't have healthy players. It's his hip and he looks hesitant in some situations. He usually shields the puck and is able to brace himself along the boards, Neil flattened him behind the net late in the third.

I agree but if his injury was that bad the coaches would sit him
 
Kostka seriously does nothing wrong. Look at it from a coaching perspective, if a pairing of Gunnarsson-Kostka is working.. Why would you run the risk of replacing him? He's literally been as steady as it gets.

I would think about the benefits of what an upgrade in Gardiner could mean for our transition game and special teams.
 
He can't be playing that bad. We have two veteran defensemen sitting in the press box.

Well of course, but once again how does a coach do that?

Also why Kostka, Holzer is awful.
 
Gardiner should be up no matter what at this point. Our D needs way more mobility and Gards brings tons of that, not to mention he would be a huge addition to the struggling power play.

Why is Kostka here? To bring offense? Well hes slow and can't hit the net even when hes in the slot, ffs. Hes just....there.
 
Funny Carlyle keeps mentioning the PP has to improve. Call up Gardiner already, not like Kostka is some gem in our end, soft as a marshmellow.
