They have singlehandedly destroyed their defense this offseason. Hope Florida fans are ready for Staal and Bietto to be taking regular shifts. If Ekblad goes down again then they are in major trouble.

Maurice and crew IMO had a better defense on paper in WPG than FLA currently does.

Yeah, I vaguely recall when he ran training camp the year Mau coached in some kind of World Cup of Hockey tourney. It was only preseason, but he got them playing quite well (and then when the season started and Mau returned, I remember being a bit disappointed because deployment changed and the Jets weren't as dynamic). Someone can correct me if I'm misremembering.

Last year he came back to the bench during a very rough time...
