Hope he's able to get back soon, but if this is lengthy, a deal might need to be considered
completely forgot about that, that stinks. He was in concussion protocol in January so this is his second in 2024.
This made me look up McBackup. Looks like he should be in HHOF of backups.
Not sure I’d just ride it out for 6-7 games they’re also one injury away from having a Tokarski Perets tandem nowI would not make a trade based on this. Average time missed is about 2 weeks; with players who have multiple concussions tending to increase that average and to my knowledge this is Koochie's first concussion.
Ride it out for 6-7 games (or less potentially).
Not only that but Kooch has shown in his career he is injury prone himself so even once he comes back you have to assume we'll be back here later this year. Not sure I’d just ride it out for 6-7 games they’re also one injury away from having a Tokarski Perets tandem now
That we know of.He was in concussion protocol in January so this is his second in 2024.
Agreed. I think they will watch the waiver wire and maybe sign Tokarski since they are only at 44 contracts. Not only that but Kooch has shown in his career he is injury prone himself so even once he comes back you have to assume we'll be back here later this year.
We don't necessarily need to grab a starting goalie, though it would help, but just someone to avoid being in a situation where Perets is needed. That kid ain't ready for prime time, not yet at least, and it would do him no favors to throw him out there now.
in what world does Anaheim trade their 24 y/o goalie of the future instead of their over the hill 31 y/o guy?SEND

I mean I get the sentiment as it does seem to happen a lot to us but this most recent koochie one was 100% friendly fire.Is there any other team that regularly has both their goaltenders ruthlessly destroyed by opposing players year after year or is that just us?
While I agree...some of them have brought it on themselves with their maverick play at times. Our goalie position continues to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts position of the nhl. Absolutely CURSED. Hoping for a swift and healthy recovery for him!

maybe? I don't remember. But we've definitely had at least a few that were other team's players. Some maybe partly on our goalies being over-aggressive in their positioning (Mrazek, Koochie), but I definitely seem to remember at least 3 that weren't friendly fire.A lot of the time, it's friendly fire. Didn't Orlov also collide with one of our goalies in similar fashion over the last few years?
