First buyout window opened 48 hours after Stanley Cup awarded. Have to be completed by 6/30.
(Teams that have players going to arbitration have a 72 hour window after last arbitration case resolved.)

Correct. That was Quinns major goof last year. Knyzhov was the 3rd-4th best Dman in the org.

Sounds like this could have been initiated by Knyzhov to go play in Europe. A player would always prefer a buy out so if it’s contract termination then the player initiated it. Maybe he was so pissed about the jersey number that he wanted out.

I don’t understand that at all from Knyzhov’s perspective. No chance he makes anything close to $1.25M or even a quarter of that in the KHL.

Never underestimate a players ability to overestimate himself.

IDK, I always felt that Knyzhov had been Americanized enough that he wouldn't want to go back to Russia. Money is money, but Russia isn't ideal for many right now. I could see him going to Europe instead
