u think a C capable of replacing JT will be available when we draft lmao
Players with high bust potential would be someone who is one dimensional like Cole Caufield or would have to overcome some kind of fundamental flaw like Skatìng. Amirov has a great all around skillset. His excellent skating and good 2 way play imo should make him more likely to make it even as a middle 6 winger if the offense doesn't translate.LOL, no he wouldn't. Amirov is your typical boom or bust prospect. If you dive deep, he had one amazing year, his U18 year was one of the best in his age group. The way he was scoring and playing was unlike anyone else. But outside of that Amirov, has been average. He's been nothing spectacular outside of that U18 year.
It would make the most sense to trade Amirov because he likely has the most value based on his draft position. But IMO he also has the highest bust potential out of the 3 as well.
Eh we got Matthews to take all the tough matchups so McDavid can feast on the easy o zone starts lolMCDavid is signing the Spezza special to replace JT. Then the fans here will
complain about his lack of 200ft game.
What exactly are you basing this on? Amirov would skate circles around Knies right now
Not sure about that. Some of us "boomers" bought the NWA cassette in 1988. LOL Some of us are pumped OG's!Boomers all over are going to have a synchronized aneurysm when that show starts Sunday lmao
This is a good point. Recency bias is powerful. Also, prospect rankings are always tough because the vast majority of us don't watch College hockey (or non-North American leagues) and have to rely on the word of others for opinions on players. For example, this is the first time I've seen Abruzzese play and I'm finally getting a much clearer picture (in my mind) of where I would rank him outside of just reading a report or seeing a highlight or two.Abruzzese is a good example why this poll is bust. Fell off the radar because he wasn't even playing. People probably forgot he even exists. Now he's back and playing well and shooting up the popularity ranks.
As soon as Amirov gets himself into the spotlight again we'll stop seeing hot takes like Amirov is the prospect they should trade etc.
Robertson and Knies can only ever dream of having Amirovs skating and out of the box 2 way play. His ceiling is also the highest and you can argue so is his floor. He just has a higher bust rate because he has a lot of work in the gym to do still. But once he's strong enough, watch out. Could be that winger we wish Nylander had to run plays with. Amirov has very good edge work just needs to get the strength to puck protect like Nylander does.
