Robertson is the closest to NHL ready although personally I only see him reaching a 3rd line, depth scoring level. Nothing wrong with that of course. Wouldn't be the worst thing if he was traded for an upgrade.

Knies probably has the most value in trade because of his size and that he's progressing really well. It does seem like he could fit nicely as a piece this team is lacking. I think he could be the main piece going to Arizona if Chychrun was someone they wanted to go for.

Amirov could be the best of the bunch as a 2nd line point producer.. He has to come to North America though. I think his progression will stall over there.

Robertson to me is a Secondary scoring option in the NHL. Ideally slotting into the 2nd line if he fulfills his potential. Kind of like a Brock Boeser. Maybe not stylistically, but in terms of production and role.

I think Amirov is a top line player. He has the ability to play both ends of the ice and has an outrageous skillset. Maybe not the type of player you build a franchise around, but a guy who will play top line minutes with ease IMO. Again, if he fulfills his potential.

Knies, Middle six winger. Utility guy that can play anywhere in the top 9. Potential really has not even been determined yet, but he is useful anywhere 1-4 on the LW side.

In a couple years I'd like to see:

Amirov - Matthews - Marner
Robertson - JT - Nylander
Knies - Kampf - Kase
Steeves - Hirvonen/Holmberg - XXX

This all could change in my mind within a month or 2, but that's just how I see it at the current moment. Obviously this would also require Kampf/Kase resigning as well. But I love that duo personally

If we go by the pre-draft hype, Amirov should have some unique offensive upside. I don't know why Kucherov's name was bandied about back in 2020, but when you watch him play he kind of looks like a Martin Havlat skillwise and I wonder if people are sleeping on his offensive upside cause he never plays that much in the KHL.

Matthew Knies was compared to a Brandon Saad and I could easily see him growing into a beastly top 6 scoring power winger. Just a very projectable prospect which will give us a player type we don't have.

Nick Robertson's had some serious injury issues and disruptions to his development over the years. He's still very young but it's hard to get a read on him because he's such a unique blend of tiny and explosive shooting ability with a kind of awkward chase the play style. Not a lot of guys like him so you don't have a good comparable.

Robertson is the best prospect, IMO.

The guy has shown that he can score. He plays extremely hard. That will come as close as a prospect comes to guaranteeing him a spot on somebody's 2nd line; with upside for more. That being said, at this point, I do believe he should probably be the one that gets offered as bait at the deadline, if any. The Leafs, with their high end wingers in the top 6, are not really equipped to develeop him in the role he needs to be developed in (2nd line winger). He needs to break in on a crappier team, or at least one that's maybe struggling to score goals that will live with him getting occasionally out muscled. It's not as simple as putting him on the 3rd, because Toronto uses it's 3rd in an extremely specific defensive role.

As for Amirov vs Knies; I'm admittedly not sure what to think. Knies seems to have taken great steps since being drafted... Amirov was a bit out of left field when drafted 15th OA. From a casual observer standpoint, I'd say Knies, but obviously the Leafs saw something in Amirov to make them draft him 15th OA.

I'd switch Amirov with Knies.

Amirov is shifty and good defensively, Knies is a net driving presence with skill. In speculation and potential/progress..
Knies= better, bigger, younger Bunting
Amirov= younger skillful 2way player Micheyev (but smaller)

Why was Amirov out of left field? He was ranked in that 15-20 range. He was also considered to have probably the most skill among that group of players.

Kid has elite skating, excellent hands, good passer, quick and accurate wrist shot and good defensively. It would not surprise me if he became like a Marian Hossa or Ondrej Palat type player riding shot gun on Matthews or Tavares' wing.

Personally, I think he has higher upside than Robertson.

What a nice problem to have. All three of them with different profiles, adding different skill sets.

Lots of season left too.

Still a chance for sone late season surprises, maybe a kid line.

Good for Robertson to get on the board twice yesterday. I know we can be a "what have you done for me lately" bunch so this is a good result for that.
Probably felt really good to get the 1st one out of the way after being off for so long.

Way to early to tell. Robertson and Knies both have fantastic D+ 1s and Amirov spent his in limited usage in a men's league. Robertson has to get healthy and Amirov needs to get out of the K to really compare them.

Amirov is the best overall. There are some individual things Knies and Robertson are better at but they can't touch Amirovs total skillset.

Knies is promising but it's more of a popularity contest at this point since all we heard about the past year was Knies this Knies that. Amirov is off in Russia, was injured and it's not that easy to track him regardless, so he's not going to win any popularity contests any time soon and this poll is a good example of that.

Robertson needs to figure it out soon or he's going to become another player where you have to wait until they're 25/26 to see if they were worth keeping. By figure it out I mean learn to play more composed, strategic and less reckless so you actually stay in the lineup after making the team. Hopefully his brother has some tips for him after establishing himself as an NHLer.

Robertson back in the Marlies lineup last night after recovering from his broken leg.

2 goals including the game winner.

Forget the exact wording but Ray Ferraro compared Robertson's game to Yakupov's in the sense that he looked really busy, going a million miles an hour on everything, being chased by a swarm of bees. Interesting to also hear the organization come out and basically tell him to relax a little bit out there. For a sniper it would probably help him to learn when to disappear in the crowd and get open at the right times and not approach every shift like you're on the PK.
