With Ekblad out for an undetermined amount of time, any chance they fake a flier on a rental like Klingberg?

I think it'd be amusing if only considering how these two were compared back in their rookie seasons. Plus I feel like Klingberg might thrive under a more open system, even if it's only for the playoffs.

Probably would be too much for what Dallas would want. They are making their playoff push. Not saying it can’t happen but lindholm may be a better option.

I agree. Especially if Florida still wants Giroux, and because Nill said he'd need to be blown away by the offer. It'll be interesting to see if Florida even goes after another dman...depends on the Ekblad injury significance. If it's significant, then this is gonna be a very expensive deadline for them

So the Panthers should trade for Klingberg even though Ekblad is expected to be back for the playoffs?

Klingberg would cost at minimal a 1st round pick and Florida only has their 2024 1st round pick. And noway Jim Nill would accept that.

They can't trade their 2024 1st round pick because it's under a condition related to a trade and thus Nill's opinion isn't needed.
