Klinberg back yeah or nay?

Should we get him back. Powerplay could use a point guy, but defensively he's a bit of a black hole.

Interesting question. Probably leaning towards a no on this one. Mostly because he hasn't played in eons so I'm skeptical of whether or not this guy can get it all together without training camp and then coming in to play the hardest part of the season.

Hard pass as he would straight up make our team worse. If the leafs are even interested in him that would be a huge disappointment in itself.

I mean how healthy is the guy? We never really saw him here, was hurt from the fourth game, so I have no idea what he can bring? It's the same surgery Kane had, if he has his mobility back sure, but it's a long shot at this point. A flyer perhaps?

It's àbout money. We wasted 1.2 or close to that for Reaves. We wasted good dollars on Domi.
So, Klingberg at minimum is worth a try if the docs think so. Anything is worth a try, as long as cost is right.

Not sure I see the spot for him. Shouldn't Haakandslash or whatever his name is be ready to play soon?

Don't see the issue with him coming back @ a 1 year, 800k contract, play him instead of Timmins/Myers for a couple of games and see if it works out.

I personally like the fact he's a experienced D-man with nhl seasons and playoffs under his belt compared to Timmins and Myers.

If it's at an amount that can be buried I don't have a problem with it

basically just Matt Murray but on defence

Would he be any worse than what Timmins currently is? That’s a low bar and at the very least Klingberg has experience being an offensive guy running a powerplay and has been on a couple deep playoff runs. I don’t see the harm in signing him to league minimum and seeing if he can’t be a #6 guy.

A player that hasn't played in a year surely will be a great asset as we enter the most important part of the season...

Happy to give him an AHL contract, with the promise that if he plays well, he'll get a NHL contract. Much beyond that... nah.

I'll go against the grain and say yes even if there are bonuses. Likely means he is league min salary so don't need to do anything. If he sucks, simply don't play him and it costs us nothing next season.

Why should we do it? Simple, our PP simply needs to be improved if there is any hope at winning a round nevermind competing for a cup. It's obvious there is no answer on the backend for that, and Klinger was brought in to QB the PP last year so why not give him the chance to do it.

And really, could he be any worse than Timmins?
