This game is too painful to watch. 5-1 already and I am ready to turn off the tube. The coaching staff uses videos, correct? How about assembling a few, splice them together and call it, "What other teams do". Really tired of these teams flowing, I mean FLOWING, around us and getting legitimate shots on net while we poke away at the puck, make blind passes and generally stumble over our own skates. I don't get this team! Then again, I haven't got this team for quite a few seasons now.

Small Rangers can't handle those big Sudbury players. Some folks have them as contenders on here. I think they will be hard pushed to make playoffs. MM should sell, sell, sell!!! I'd rather watch young interested team rather than this older team going through the motions

Really? We have 14 guys 6 feet and over and Sudbury has 16. Not a huge difference. We both have 5 players over 200 pounds. So what gives? We just don't know how to use our size, I suppose. As mentioned on these boards before, what we lack is speed and it is sadly showing in this game.

I am not on the "Fire the coach"train yet.

But im not sold on this new cat at all.

On paper this is a great team.

So many players not playing at the level that is expected and I am starting to believe the change in coach was a mistake.

This team was hungry last year. Where in games they shouldn't have been.

I don't know everyone. This team is a top 6 forward, a top 6 d and a solid depth forward away. Might be too rich and to much of a task.

Guys I know you’re not too happy, so honestly, this is kind of a friendly jan but I got to say I was looking forward to this game all day. Your color man kind of hinted that this should be an easy road win and you should focus on the North bay game and I kept thinking…. you just watch 😉 man I knew he didn’t really understand the composition of our team and the talent we had, and how we had been under performing. In all honesty, the 6-1 win didn’t surprise me in the least I knew they’d be all over them, that’s the Sudbury wolves of old man under K Mac. You came into our barn, you often could expect to be down early. That game in your barn only really got away from the Wolves because of penalties and coaching. Your guy didn’t get the picture. Anyway, that comment got my wolf fur to stand on end and maybe one of the Wolves heard it too 👍😎 I

I saw there was this guy with the Rangers sweater on that kept saying F the Rangers yeah yeah F the Rangers, you know half bag but never cool. I don’t know. I don’t recall any of our fans saying that or I don’t know if we’d egged em on but I remember thinking you never bad mouth your team at any time in any strange city. I know a lot of your Rangers fans will understand what I’m talking about. anyways, I’m rambling but it was nice to drop by your forum. We don’t play anymore so I hope the Rangers win the western conference 😉🍻

I only started on these threads after Paps traded for Hage. A Kitchener poster compared Sudbury to Siberia. Really!! Even without MH and with Mesar, I must say tonight’s game was very fun.

The tale of two teams continues. There are players that could and should be doing way better than they are....but don't always show up. Vandenburg got smoked with little to no help from what should be solid D (on paper) but are hot and cold at best. Something has to give and soon. Like starting today in NB but not holding my breath.

Two of the so-called Ranger 200 pounders were not playing last night. The difference is the sandpaper and grit. Who on the Rangers has these qualities? In the last decade the Rangers seem to lean towards what they consider "speed and skill" type of players. Andonovski might be the only one. If he gets too many penalties fans start to complain. Last night the team came out flat with a rookie tender in and hung him out to dry. Quick question on the coach. Where did he play hockey? Can't find the stats. Video coach and assistant coach stats show up. Side note: Rumors of Othmann wanting out of Flint out there. Maybe he would pair up with Mesar and add a spark?

Not sure what colour guy you were referring to. In the pre-game show on 570, the Ranger broadcasters clearly outlined the Ranger struggles on the road - poor PK and poor PP stats - along with the usual slow start. Couple that with their mentioning that the Wolves had been playing better, and have had quick starts as of late. Quite frankly the quick lead, and the end result didn't surprise me at all. Perhaps it surprised others. Many of us on this board already know that this team is vastly under-performing this season.

I will also point out that the Sudbury broadcaster made the comment about Kitchener starting their back-up against the Wolves and proceeded to give the audience a similar misleading impression that you outlined above. A simple bit of pre-game research would have helped the broadcaster realize that the Rangers were playing 3 games in 3 days. The typical plan is to play your back-up in game 2. The Wolves started their back-up vs. the Rangers back at the Aud in their 7-2 win. Were Ranger fans supposed to get the same impression ?

North Bay will likely start their backup today and if so it's only because the starter played last night in a divisional game.
No disrespect to the Rangers of course.

lmao it's very funny to me that my joke annoyed you enough to make an account and that it still sticks with you. It almost makes the brutal loss go down easier.

Agreed. He's certainly not getting the best out of them. It's getting almost as bad as the start McKee had that lead to his firing. A good coach makes a team better than the sum of its parts, a bad coach makes a team less than the sum of its parts.

They got him for a 1 x 2nd, 2 x 3rds and a player. We could have done that! :-(
Skimming the Flint board and it looks like there was a reason he went as cheap as he did, given his pedigree. The way things are in Kitchener, I'm not sure if that would have been a good fit locker room wise but on paper it would have been a great move.

Yes, there is always the unknown. In MM we trust!

Not much left out there in the way of high end OA's. Logan Morrison? Though I would lean more towards a sniper rather than a setup man. Avery Hayes? Perhaps the 2nd tier market will be a bit cheaper due to the Othmann trade. Just what we need.

Right at this moment there are only two teams with more losses than the Rangers league wide I believe. Guelph and Niagara. Also, our top five scorers are only 2 points better than the top five rookies league wide. Not too sure how MM fixes all the issues this team has at the moment. I think Popeye said it best " I am what I am and that all what I am". Basically, the only way MM can pull off a miracle is to trade his way out. Not sure how he can accomplish this. Personally, if they lose today to NB I think MM is between a rock and a hard place and will have to answer to the fans one way or another. Mesar was supposed to come in and be a threat every game by the hype. Starting to wonder if the Habs made the right move. He should be putting up more than he has. Maybe different linemates?

Just to clarify......my thoughts are ONLY if we turn things around. True, where we sit now, we should be selling, as I mentioned in an earlier post. It is still a bit early but I agree if we do down today, especially if we are held to one or 2 goals, some hard decisions will have to be made soon. Personally, if that happens, I would sell, sell, sell!

I am not going to go out on a limb and say today is a must win game.

But the team needs to show up today. We can all assess a game in which the team takes the L but clearly showed up.

End of a 3 in 3 that started at home. 2 very very lackluster, little effort games so far. Need to be in this game all game. This is game 16.

Got another 3 in 3 next weekend.

Need a solid effort today and at worst 3-4 of 6 points next weekend, Anything less and I might be looking at some changes.

Lets go boys!

As Ranger fans we all keep hoping that we wake up from a bad dream. I would at least like to see MM bring in a talented play maker to play with Mesar. Hate to see this highly skill NHL first rounder not being used to his potential. I thought he and Pinelli would really light it up. Opposing teams seem to neutralize them by keeping them on the perimeter. They need a Petizian type that can make an extra play in front of the opposing net. Hopefully they get a better start today, but I wouldn't count on it.

Or better yet, a Gregory Campbell type. Is there a guy like that in the league this year available?
