Suzuki has been a one man band since playing in the NHL..............he has had zero protection from the big matchups.....we have had no 2nd line C since Suzuki joined the team. Phil was and is more a defensive specialist, who is a 3rd line C.
I know you are a fan of Phil, and I was, until he thought he was worth north of 5M and subsequently wanted out of Montreal...........
Phil plays 2nd c most of the time in LAK and they make the PO every year since Phil joined LAK. And Phil have a plus stat most of the time, despite playing with different wingers since he plays in nhl. Phil is worth 5,5. He is a nightmare for most #1 C in the league and LAK makes the PO since he joined them. That alone is worth his salary. But you and others like to mention he wasn't worth 5M, and hahaha, Dvorak is paid 4,5, and hahaha Anderson is paid 5,5 and hahaha Gallagher is paid 6,5. Talking about that money and who is worth what with a Mtl fan makes me become very sarcastic. I will sound like E Musk soon if I don't stop myself, lol. I make big efforts to stay a gentleman.
Take in consideration that Suzuki have Caufield on his wing. And Caufield is the best winger for the Habs and one of the more efficient snyper of the league. But CC is poor in defensive play. Seems like the defensive play is taboo with Mtl fans. We had boring defensive teams and we puke if defensive play is mentioned. MSL is trying to recreate the offensive team of Tampa Bay but he doesn't have the players to apply such a system. Well, I guess this is what he's trying, the other option is he have no idea how to impliment a system that works.
Imagine if today we have Danault and Lehkonen. No Dvorak, no Anderson. Do you think we could be beaten 9-2 by Pittsburg?
