"HEY I WATCH A GROUP OF RANDOM MEN THAT WEAR THE SAME COLOR CLOTHING PUT A RUBBER BRICK IN A NET AND YOU ARE NOT PUTTING THE RUBBER BRICK IN THE NET FOR THE GROUP OF GROWN MEN WHOSE COLOR I CHEER FOR SO YOU ARE A STUPID PIECE OF TRASH"

-internet fans

I swear we have the most toxic fanbase in all of hockey. The level of hate reached on the internet by those who proport to be a fan of this franchise is ridiculous and embarassing.

"Most knowledgable hockey fans in the world" my ass. We have some of the weakest takes I've ever seen.

Most of it emotional driven drivel, bunch of "Karens" nonsense.

For the record, the habs were by far the best team on the ice last night, Marty DID support his team in regards to the officiating, and Dach despite the unfortunate penalty, probably played his best game of the season. (Which isn't saying much, but is atleast encouraging and a step forward) But hey, let's tear him a new hole instead.

There was plenty to like about yesterday's game in regards to all things habs, (including Dach) and still the negativity intensifies.

Very sad to hear he’s having a tough time.

For his own sake he should be scratched and given some time off. Not sure why MSL and Hughes haven’t made a decision to mitigate the impact of the situation.

Fans are right to expect more. His teammates are right to expect better efforts. And he’s got every right to work through his injury rehabilitation without extra pressure.

Not scratching him is a conscious choice from MSL and Hughes and it reflects poorly on them and their understanding of a young person’s psychology. This is not what a team with an upbeat outlook and positive culture does to its players.

Yes lets scratch him after he actually played a good game, despite consistently playing him through his early season struggles in hopes to help him find his game. Makes perfect sense.

Oh no! He showed signs of progress and life, lets bench him now.

Dach is a huge question that needs answering this season, it would behoove the team to give him all the opportunity and support he needs.

Agreed.

The penalty he took was dumb, I'm not gonna excuse him for that.. but that was a penalty while he was battling deep in the offensive zone and engaging, it wasn't a lazy penalty, or a selfish penalty.

It was compounded by the fact the Rangers got to trip our penalty killer to set up the game winning goal on the penalty. If the refs don't completely f***ing blow, that's a penalty, we are 4 on 4 and things are evened up.

It's slowly coming for Dach, now might be the time to give him a bit more help on his line and see what happens.

Wouldn't mind seeing him get Heineman and Laine as his linemates when Laine is back, reunite Cole-Slaf-Suzuki and bring Newhook down with Evans and Gallagher.

Funny you should say this because last night I was thinking how we have the worst and most toxic fanbase in the league. That's why we are hated by other teams everywhere. And not just the usual "I hate that team", it's intense. Just look at the takes on this board. There are some good ones but there are a shitload of extremely bad ones. Just look at the trade proposal threads on the main board (hell, even here) and it's embarrassing.

He just shut down his Instagram comments because people were ripping him non stop.

Maybe it'll be a good thing and he can tune out some of the noise.

Personally, I think the fanbase is being a little unfair to him considering he's not making big money and coming off such a long absence.
IG and all social accounts should be private. Why would anyone in the world care what internet randos think of their trip to Florida or their new puppy?

It’s rinse and repeat with these stories I swear, grow a pair people.

This is so not true. Chill out, some are living their emotions through these 20 year olds lol.

You're one with the bad takes I was talking about, so not a surprise you're saying this. I'm sure the rest of the crew will be on my back soon enough

My question for Dach is : is he just scared or is he also out of shape.

My point is : his strong suit was always board battle and getting away with the puck from corners. He was always winning them.

At his best, he was skating with players on his back and still making plays.

This year, he lost that edge greatly. He always lose puck battle, fall a lot more on the ice and he’s nearly almost always late in the corners.

I say that that’s what he as to work on the most.

What bad takes? Guy should not be on pp1 and top lines until he hopefully finds his game? I think injuries and lack of pro hockey have cut this guy’s potential short. That habs need a new 2c. Not sure how that makes me a catalyst for the most toxic fanbase in the league, les nerfs bonhomme c’est juste du hockey.

First, you should take that advice .... Secondly, I never mentioned or had a take on the Dach situation or commented on yours. I'm talking in general.

Well you just wrote we have the worst fanbase, and specifically because of me; I feel I’m pretty chill in my response… No worries; hopefully he eventually gets his game back some day.

I may be in the minority here, but I've actually liked what I've seen from Newhook on the 1st line.

You aren't the pace of the entire line has picked up. Just like I suspected it would.
Newhook isn't ideal but it's the best that line has looked all season IMO.

I would keep them intact on PP1 if I was Marty that with the addition Hutson would start producing at a better rate.

In here, I can say whatever. Not expecting any player to read this. I'm never going to hate message a guy on any of their page. Actually, I might even based on what happened on instagram, give a message of encouragement to the guy on Twitter.

But all this would NOT have happened with 2 things. A better reading of our mangement on the type and character of that player. And right now, the insane misuage of MSL giving him tons of chances and nothing happens. The guy does NOT deserve some PP time. On any PP's,. The guys that deserve ir more? Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovsky, Gallagher, Heineman. And for their overall work this year...Anderson and Evans. That's 7 forwards. And run Hutson and Matheson for the whole 2 minutes.

Now...we know what's coming. The boobirds will come in full force against Dach. Not only making this city, again, look insanely dumb as they are more than capable of looking. But will affect Dach's play even more, and if we ever want to pass him....will weaken our posiiton. Obviously those boobirds idiots can't understand that but that's what will happen.

The argument that Chicago traded Dach along Strome and Debrincat was because they wanted to tank, doesn’t hold any water.
When traded, Dach was coming off a 26 points in 70 games with a face off % of 32%.
Those aren’t stats telling me is was going to affect the tank.

What it does told me is that Chicago realized the guy wasn’t a consume professional willing to work on his craft to get better. So they got rid of a 6’4” 220 lbs 3years removed from being a 3 overall pick.

Until proven otherwise, this is my conclusion.
You are completely ignoring what happened with how Chicago botched his injuries on his wrist. That ultimately is what led to him being traded and again This was very likely a mutual parting of the ways.

Great game from him yesterday. Played hard, played angry. The penalty sucks and he was a bit unlucky there. I hope he uses it as fuel. Come out angry, play physical… you can contribute that way even if you’re not scoring points.
