No. Great start for Dach but, as a Habs fan, I think finishing with 45-50 pts is reasonable, which would be really good. Anything more and I'll be thrilled.
Habs traded 13th overall (essentially Romanov) + a high 3rd for him, I am guessing they want more than 45-50 points.

Ideally, sure, more than 45-50 pts would be great. But those are still very good numbers for most players drafted around 13th. I'm pretty sure Montreal will consider it a win if he produces at that level. Of course, Dach himself was 3OA; Chicago was probably hoping for more.

Would you actually be happy with 45-50 though?

We're talking Kerfoot numbers at that level.

Dach also doesn't turn 22 years old until January, so he's still just a kid. A 45-50 point season this year would be a big step in the right direction, with the hope for there being more growth potential left to become a 60-70 point guy the following year, maybe even more.

In isolation, yeah, if Dach becomes a perennial 45-50 pt. guy I'd call it a good trade for the Habs and I'd be satisfied. But if you're asking what would make me happy, I'm really hoping he continues his hot start and looks more like a 3OA than a 13th.

I, personally, would not be happy with a 45-50pt guy for a top 15 pick, although it wasn't a super strong draft. I guess he could develop a more physical aspect and become an elite defensive player, but we certainly differ here.

I like your reasonably optimistic take better than my boring, mildly pessimistic one.

I know it's lazy but Pierre luc Dubois was the first I thought of as a comparable potential outcome, who has a season of 61 and 60 points. I'd be surprised if Dach is better than Dubois but I can see him reaching similar heights with the right usage/linemates.

12pts in 14games to start his Habs tenure and looking more and more comfortable each game.
Blackhawks will regret trading him.
Pure wizardry by Hughes to turn Romanov into Dach.

I'm glad he's producing but he hasn't especially impressed me. I don't think he'll be a regular threat to score 70 in a season but I'd be happy to be wrong

I see him as a regular 50-60 points winger, which is plenty good.
He could reach 70 points once or twice when the stars align.

I see him as a that gets 40-50 points usually with 60pt seasons coming by sometimes. He's a guy you can plug anywhere in your lineup and he'll always have an impact, always scoring at least 20 goals. A perhaps better version of Zubrus.

This is the Hawks trading Teuvo Teravainen all over again...then the player becomes a 70pt player.
