He have already 10 points in 12 games, do you think that he can be a 70 pts per season player for Habs?
No. Great start for Dach but, as a Habs fan, I think finishing with 45-50 pts is reasonable, which would be really good. Anything more and I'll be thrilled. He have already 10 points in 12 games, do you think that he can be a 70 pts per season player for Habs?
I genuinely envy your sunny optimism. Is it possible? Yes. Likely? No.He have already 10 points in 12 games, do you think that he can be a 70 pts per season player for Habs?
Habs traded 13th overall (essentially Romanov) + a high 3rd for him, I am guessing they want more than 45-50 points.No. Great start for Dach but, as a Habs fan, I think finishing with 45-50 pts is reasonable, which would be really good. Anything more and I'll be thrilled.
Ideally, sure, more than 45-50 pts would be great. But those are still very good numbers for most players drafted around 13th. I'm pretty sure Montreal will consider it a win if he produces at that level. Of course, Dach himself was 3OA; Chicago was probably hoping for more.Habs traded 13th overall (essentially Romanov) + a high 3rd for him, I am guessing they want more than 45-50 points.
Would you actually be happy with 45-50 though?Ideally, sure, more than 45-50 pts would be great. But those are still very good numbers for most players drafted around 13th. In isolation, yeah, if Dach becomes a perennial 45-50 pt. guy I'd call it a good trade for the Habs and I'd be satisfied. But if you're asking what would make me happy, I'm really hoping he continues his hot start and looks more like a 3OA than a 13th.Would you actually be happy with 45-50 though?
We're talking Kerfoot numbers at that level.
I, personally, would not be happy with a 45-50pt guy for a top 15 pick, although it wasn't a super strong draft. I guess he could develop a more physical aspect and become an elite defensive player, but we certainly differ here.In isolation, yeah, if Dach becomes a perennial 45-50 pt. guy I'd call it a good trade for the Habs and I'd be satisfied. I like your reasonably optimistic take better than my boring, mildly pessimistic one.Dach also doesn't turn 22 years old until January, so he's still just a kid. A 45-50 point season this year would be a big step in the right direction, with the hope for there being more growth potential left to become a 60-70 point guy the following year, maybe even more.
Did the Hawks ever try Dach on the wing? This is the Hawks trading Teuvo Teravainen all over again...then the player becomes a 70pt player.
