Because they will likely play for the Calder Cup. Their season isn't over. No point having them play in a meaningless game and risk injury.

He's playing ALL the vets because he knows he'll never be able to do it again over one of the kids.

Its such a Sutter move. In 2015, the final game of the year, Weal gets called up, his parents are flown out...healthy scratch.
