The Reign could use all the help they can get, especially after losing Brodzinski to an injury.
Neither player will be on the Reign this year, Clague not eligible until 18-19 season when he is 20. Wagner will be fighting for a roster spot in September, he'll be 20 years old. Both are still playing for their clubs in juniors.
I meant to suggest Wagner joining the team once his post season is over. Could be a late addition to their playoff run, much like how Kempe was brought in during their Calder Cup run.
I'm sure by the time Clague is ready for AHL assignment the Kings will have cleared up some spots on Ontario's blueline. In fact, I could see a few names not coming back next season, like Zac Leslie. I'd be surprised if he was qualified. Same with Trotman.

Posting in this thread so I can remember this day 3 or 4 years from now when we're all *****ing about how they didn't make it and our scouting sucks.
This is good news at a time when we could use some. Love both kids.
I could see it. Wagner could use a taste of the pro game. I've been very impressed with his growth down there, love when prospects push themselves after being drafted.
Leslie is a weird one. Always showed flashes, but always got himself scratched. He may catch on somewhere if those flashes caught their eyes, but I generally agree. He was always hard for me to read. Also wouldn't' be surprised to see some D prospects cleared for some F prospects. This organization loves loading up on D, which I applaud, but good lord is it imbalanced right now.
I am a big fan of Wagner, though others aren't so much. He's a solid all around player with a lot of speed.
Clague I haven't seen as much of, but am excited about his potential.
Leslie's growth has stagnated, but I think he can still get back on track with time. I still see him as a good puck mover.
I'll never forget him and Nick Ebert making the opposition look stupid at the junior level.
Nick Ebert shot his load in that one preseason game he played in LA and looked like one of the best players on the ice. After that, eh. Not surprised he was moved in the offseason. Leslie, has to make some huge strides and soon. Looks like he is now behind MacDermid on the depth chart as well. The LaDue and Gravel call ups have definitely helped cement his time in the lineup.
Now on the other hand, obviously Wagner and Clague are two of the Kings better prospects so these contracts are no big surprise. A possible silver lining, in a way, Clague's team is a playoff team, but will go against one of the top two teams in the WHL. If they get bounced in the first round, Clague could easily make it for the final 2-3 weeks of the Reign's season. You'd assume that the Reign would want to play him ASAP, like Amadio did last year.
It would be exciting to see Clague these playoffs, no doubt. Last year I was anticipating seeing Amadio and LaDue. This year it's Watson. Clague can't actually play in the playoffs until next year, right?
Someone here was a fan of Reddekopf awhile back, eh? Chances of him getting a contract?

Clague can come up and play for Ontario as soon as his junior season is over.
So he can play in the playoffs this year but next year he has to go back to jrs or make the kings?
I never liked the Leslie draft from the start. Getting to watch almost every Guelph OHL game, he was not impressive, nor did he strike me as someone who would make it. Around the same time as Matt Finn, a guy all Leafs fans raved about. Both played on very good Storm teams but both never appeared to be NHL material.
