Kings News: Kings Sign Adam Cracknell And David Van Der Gulik To One-Year Contracts

"The Los Angeles Kings – the 2014 Stanley Cup Champions"

ehehehe, I didn't read the rest. But Cracknell can be useful if some player needs to get his ass handed to him.

I'm familiar with Cracknell, a typical fourth liner that can hit.... but who is David Van Der Gulik ?

I had mentioned Van Der Gulik yesterday in the Manchester thread. He is a good AHL veteran scorer. He has played the last few seasons with Lake Erie (Colorado) and prior to that he spent time in Calgary's organization.

Of course, Cracknell has been with St. Louis and spent time with their affiliate in Chicago where he put some some decent numbers. He's a guy we could call up in the event of injuries.

That Cracknell-Porter-Reaves line gave us a lot of trouble in 12-13. Seems like a good 4th line banger.

Seems like Manchester will be pretty young, so, a couple veteran leader types. Can't hurt, so why not.

When you lose 4 or 5 forwards in Manchester, Vey, Toffoli, Pearson, Deslauriers, and possibly Andreoff...you must replace them. Plus, Fraser is gone too.

Since March, only Dowd and Mersch have been added. Manch still needs 1 or 2 more
forwards. Hoping Prokhorkin is one!!!

Plus Quailer and Livingston, who are both UFAs.

Just wanted to come over and say Cracknell will be missed by the Blues fans. He's never looked over his head, and is surprisingly good on the cycle. He's not fast, which has always been his big hindrance, but I've never seen it actually be something that hurts him on the NHL level.

They're both pretty good scorers at the AHL level, can help fill the void after losing Toffoli, Pearson, Vey, Kozun and so on. Probably a lot better than the big guys brought in that didn't do much on the scoresheet.

Cheers. I know he's got the respect of many Kings fans after that 2013 war in the playoffs.

Both are AHL guys, will never see a Kings uniform. Cracknell is nice I guess, but Nolan & Clifford are both better options.
