Possible that Brodzinski and Ladue get multi year deals, harder to iron out.

kinda surprising to see LESlie back. Great news on all the others, particularly the two years on brodz!

Enough money to sign a depth winger from Turkmenistan and a winger for Kopitar from Bulgaria. I hear the Patrick Kane of the Gauteng Roller Hockey League is still available.

"Kings announce 6 year, 5m/year contract to Paul LaDue" :naughty:

Lol this is a show me year for Ladue I think he will exceed all expectations and receive a long term contract maybe in Martinez Muzzin ballpark . Pay for potential right .

With the cap space we have I would love to see them give Vanek a shot. He's a top 6 left wing and has never scored less than 40 points his entire career

It's a little bizarre to see Blake doing the 'show me' throwback contracts after the whole NHL has moved to locking people up for term. It's almost a net wash in a way--those long term deals can be gambles that can work out. The short term deals are no money this year, big money next year. But I guess they certainly give you more roster flexibility from year to year (which we definitely need--but when you have a championship team, you hope they're all locked up forever at their current prices!).

Also gives the Kings plenty of wiggle room and buys them time to figure out how to fit everyone else into their future plans once they iron out an extension for Doughty.

Blake carries his pedigree as a player as a big stick and the younger players are giving him the benefit of the doubt. These signings are a sign that players may buy into his vision but give both sides an out if he turns out to be a dud GM.

Dean's probably shaking his fist at the screen wondering why drake didn't give 10 year contracts to each player

Every one of these signings will still be an RFA next year.

May they earn raises, sure... but how much they can really demand will be somewhat limited, leaving Blake in a pretty good position still to figure out what to do with Doughty.
