If anyone has another up to date prospect rankings from a publication I'll update the table to average them out.

I think I single handedly pushed Lowry to 25th, lol. I seem to be alone in my assumption he'll amount to anything.

Here's my rankings.

1. RW Tyler Toffoli - Easy choice.
2. LW Valentin Zykov - Has the all the tools, could become a huge performer for Kings in the future. Love his upside.
3. LW Tanner Pearson - Great skills, possible Williams replacement in a year or two.
4. C Linden Vey - Does all the little things right and still has uptapped offensive potential. Could be a valuable depth player (3rd line and sub top 6 player) very very soon.
5. D Kevin Gravel - Smart safe player, he plays alot like Rob Scuderi, IMO. Love his simple game, could be a core player for many years.
6. D Derek Forbort - Still has tantalizing upside. Has all the tools, we'll see in the next year or two whether the box to hold them develops.
7. C Nick Shore - Love the game he plays. He does not overwhelm with physicality or skills, but plays a solid all around game. Potential Stoll replacement, IMO, if Vey does not already take that spot.
8. LW Michael Mersch - Plays the game with all the right qualitys. Strong on the puck and plays a smart game. Perfect fit for the Kings system.
9. LW Nikolai Prokhorkin - Again, this is a smart hockey player. Wins board battles, plays hard in both ends, does the little things. Kings drafting is great since they identify the qualities like that.
10. G Patrik Bartosak - I know I am going out on a limb on this guy, but I have been a HUGE fan dating back two seasons. He moves really well in the net with good size. Easily best G in WHL last season, he has legitimate starter potential, although still a few years away from it.
11. LW Maxim Kitsyn - Enigmatic player with drool worthy goalscoring upside, it is hard to say where he ends up. Is a better fit for the NA game, cannot wait to see how he does this year as a trigger man in Manchester.
12. G Martin Jones - Has been developing his consistency in Manchester, and is a solid all around netminder. Rough around the edges a little still, but is close to NHL as a 1B option. Not sold on starter potential.
13. C Jordan Weal - Has a nice set of hands, dynamic offensive player that will be having a breakout season in Manchester, IMO. Whether he will be able to switch to NHL game remains to be seen. Likely projects at wing at NHL level, IMO.
14. C Nic Dowd - Again another solid twoway player with depth potential, I like the smart game he plays.
15. C Andy Andreoff - Lack of high end potential has him lower on my list than most, but he plays a strong energy game that translates well to NHL level. Should be a depth player at NHL level (3rd/4th line energy guy).
16. RW Hudson Fasching - Very raw but has all the tools to be an effective NHL power forward. Goes to the net and plays strong in corners, should carve out a nice niche as a depth guy if the scoring never comes.
17. RW Tomas Hyka - Speedy pest will be able to carve out a nice role in the NHL if he wants to, IMO. Plays with an edge not often seen in somebody his size and has still uptapped offensive potential. Real wildcard, be an interesting season for him in Sweden.
18. RW Brandon Kozun - Spark plug type player just does have the speed or hands to carve a scoring line role in the NHL. Will add energy to a 4th line, but lack of upside combined with not alot of pro development and waiver eligibility has him lower on my list.
19. LW Joel Lowry - Got the size and strength to make is a depth player in NHL. Again plays the smart safe grinding game the Kings are looking for in the wing position. Hard worker that could find himself in the plans in a couple of years.
20. D Nic Deslauriers - Typical all tools no toolbox type player. Has tantalizing skills but his altogether game leaves you always wanting more.
21. D Colin Miller - Hard worker that has shown consistant improvement, but questions remain with his upside and ability to transition to the pro game. Could be a riser in next year's list.
22. C Jonny Brodzinski - Prolific college scorer is a hard working player and does the little things right, but I have concerns onto whether his skills will be able to take it to the next level.
23. D Alex Roach - Has shown considerable development over the course of his junior career. Continues to improve, but the ultimate upside is still very uncertain.
24. LW Dominic Kubalik - This may raise a few eyebrows, but I like the effort he puts in. He loves to go to the dirty areas of the ice and makes things happen. Might not have the offensive upside, but could be a valuable energy player down the road.
25. G Jean-Francois Berube - The fact that Manchester signed UFA junior goalie Niederberger to compete with him says it all. Has talent, but has yet to put it together and time is quickly running out.
26. D Kurtis MacDermid - Little bit undersized physical defenseman might be able to become a #7 option, but not much else, IMO.
27. D Paul LaDue - Need to see more of him at a higher level to make a complete assessment, but seems to be a solid depth option in the prospect pool. Project.
28. D Nick Ebert - Not seeing it. Flashy skating undersized defenseman that still seems to be riding pre-draft hype.
29. RW Justin Auger - Has some skills, but still projects as an enforcer at best.
30. C Robbie Czarnik - Has some skills, but not really thinking he will make it out of AHL.
31. D Zachery Leslie - Real wildcard I have not seen him much at all. Don't really know much.
32. RW Brian O'Neill - Energy guy for Manchester, don't see him in LA ever even as an emergency recall.

I think I single handedly pushed Lowry to 25th, lol. I seem to be alone in my assumption he'll amount to anything.

He cracks my top 20 as seen above. I like Lowry alot, TBH, think he will be a decent depth option in a couple of years. However I just though some other players were criminally underrated in polls which is why I never got to vote for him.

For a team that isn't thought of too highly in prospect rankings (and I can understand why due to the lack of sizzle there), that really is a deep pool of prospects. The probability of most of them succeeding at the pro level may seem unlikely, but even getting a quarter of those players to amount to regulars in the pro ranks is significant.

What was it that Lombardi said in the past, that it's a positive if two draft picks from each draft class turns into an NHLer? Going by the numbers of past drafts and trends for the Kings, their development system and pipeline is looking on the up and up. Not all picks are going to be homeruns like Voynov and Simmonds were, but finding the likes of Toffoli, Martinez, King, Clifford, Nolan, outside of the 1st round has to be considered a success.

Two roster players per draft, and your scouts/development team are batting 1000.

So the Kings have done well the last few years.

Two players per draft, one of which should be a 'core' guy (top nine forward, top four D-man, number one goalie). That's about what you need as a minimum to stay on top.

That or to trade those picks for the same thing (and players that will stick around as well).
