This game has a loss written all over it. The Kings have wasted away some many points playing against bad teams. They really need to bring their A game today and the same intensity they bring playing against the Sharks.

I wouldn't classify the Canes as a bad team, they are better than their record indicates. Kings have only 1 point more and are in a weaker conference. And if they had a decent backup goalie, they'd have more W's. Eddie Lack and Michael Leighton, might as well sign a lawnchair. Cam Ward is starting too many games (40) and no relief. At one point recently he'd started 15 games in a row.

And they have a lot of good young players both forwards and defense. Growing pains, and lessons learned but a good team on the rise.

And if you haven't seen Sebastian Aho yet, you're in for a treat. He's a stud. And the 3rd line with Teravainen and Stempniak has been good.

If the Canes win, it will be because they earned it.

They are also 14-1-1 at home.

Carolina has been a better team than LA so far this season.

Also, they're 15-5-1 at home. Getting two points out of this game will be tough.

Although we've played much better lately, I don't trust us against these teams with uber-structure, AKA euphemistic code for 'we'll keep 4 guys back, 5 if you decide to curl the puck back and break out' and simply try to score on rush chances. It's so ****ing boring. But it works, and we haven't found a way to crack it yet this year. Canes do it better than anyone and have the personnel, we're ****ed today.

You can say practically all these things about the Kings too.
