As long as he has an Ipad on the bench, and every time Kopitar does a lap around the offensive zone before making a pass to a player who isn't in a dangerous scoring area, he calls him over and tells him that's BS, I'm all for it.

I like the hire. It's forward thinking. I don't know whether it will make a difference, but Kings players need to hear a new voice IMO. It's worth a try.

I was disappointed with the front office/coaching shakeup because it mostly involved promoting internally. If you really want to shake things up you need to bring in outsiders.

More like Kopitar wears a shock collar and Pierre hits the button on it whenever he does his lap/pass to a defenseman move.

Actually they do, since none of them are usually anywhere near the net. 1 against 4 is a poor percentage play. Same thing when DD gains a 1/2 step into the zone, no one goes to the net.

See, I've always thought this was a possession-first, systematic thing that became a bad habit for the reason you stated rather than a lack of willingness.

Yeah, I'm sure now that Murray and Sutter are gone, we'll see Kopitar going to the net like a Champion all season long.

We know Kopitar won't. He's a gutless, overpaid loser.

Let's see who gets tired of being passive aggressive first. Your turn.

They've also been his coach in 9 of his 11 seasons in the NHL, so I would hope that would be the case.

Just pointing out that it's more up to the players than it is the coach.

The roster has more to do with Kopitar's production (also himself).

Murray/Sutter both get trashed on this board as being awful coaches(by some folks).

I like the move. Forward thinking and shows Stevens wants an offensive mind
to be infused into the system and will be able to delegate offensive strategy to
Pierre. That alone is awesome, because I bet if Sutter was still coach and they
wanted to bring 'an offensive coordinator' in, he would reject the idea and
*may* indeed say "if that's the case, I'm outta here"

More than a decade ago, defensive coaches and systems were brought in, for teams
that lacked enough firepower to compete...and it worked. Why not infuse an offensive coordinator to help run your offense?
As lack of goals has been a big problem here for sometime. M
Some of the best success the Kings PP had in recent years, was the season they borught Bernie Nicholls in to work with the PP.
Wished they would have given him a fulltime gig and made him offensive coordinator back then.

Great choice in Turgeon. Anyone (there are few) that averaged more than a point a game in their NHL career - I'm impressed.

Yeah, the "awful" coach who helped us get 2 Stanley Cups. Some people are just complete morons.
