It's a little weird for me. First time in 13 years I don't have seats, but I was just totally burnt after the last two compressed schedules. It felt like I was at Staples 5 nights a week.

I got burnt out too, so I decided to attend maybe 25 games this season, and sell the rest.

Maybe it won't seem so compressed this season without a lockout or Olympics? I was good with 2012 but then again that was my first season as a STH so I attended virtually every home game.

Funny enough my brother was considering dropping his season seats to invest in other interests, but when he heard about a waiting list, he kept them. Though this season he's planning on selling more of his tickets than before. Sadly, opening night was so painfully sold out and overpriced even for STHs I'm not gonna get to go. :(

Quite the change from when I had season tickets.

Happy for the longtime STH's who can now cash in on the games they choose not to go to.

You mean it wasn't worth season tickets to watch the likes of Ryan Flinn, Kip Brennan and Brad Norton take the ice?

But yeah, this is quite the drastic change from the times when the organization thought that to fill seats in Staples Center, they needed star names.

It only took sooo many years to figure out that putting together a winning team would create stars and fill the seats.

Yeah, the turnaround is pretty nuts. With the Manhattanization of downtown, I'm assuming the Kings will pretty much be guaranteed to always sell out moving forward, even if they don't maintain their dominant status.

Not sure about that, the Lakers are starting to experience non-sell-out crowds.

As much as I hate to admit it, we really are fair-weather fans (generally). I mean just about everyone posting here stays with the Kings thru thick and mostly thin...not talking about die-hards like us.

I've lived here my entire life and have witnessed it in person. There really are a lot of casual fans who jump on and off the... (not gonna say it).

We'll see. I hope the Kings are relevant for a long time for obvious fandom reasons but also now these days I am very much heavily invested into them from a STH angle as well.

I got burnt out the year after the Kings finished 29th place. What did I get for watching that **** show? I got to watch the Kings draft Doughty and trade Cammalleri while I gulped down pre-made margarita's coming out of a tap. They were free.. well, kinda. I paid over $1000 for the privilege of sulking with a bunch of Kings fans in the Nokia Theater and guzzling those nasty things. That was a moment of clarity for me.

I know what I got out of it. I got to watch hockey. My team was pretty bad & that sucked - but ... I LIKE hockey. And I like going to the games. And now I've got pretty good seats locked up & a bunch of people around me I consider friends.

The period of time between 2003 through 2007 was pretty miserable, to the point I had to leave a game early once because of how disgusted I was by the team's lack of effort. They just decided to take a night off and I was pretty furious by that performance. It was against the Ducks, and the only redeeming factor was Avery pounding on Perry. That's it. Never gave up on the team, but they sure did find ways to really infuriate a lot of us who had invested money in season tickets.

I was being sarcastic. I did like going even when they were horrible. I almost wore it as a badge of honor. But I literally couldn't give tickets away and I wasn't able to make a third of the games. At that draft party, I kinda thought I'd be better off buying tickets to games when I want to go and not for every game. What has happened since is I've found myself going less and less each year. Including no playoff games last year. I've since started playing 3 times a week again. That is where my money and time goes. I still watch on TV. HDTV has kinda ruined live sports for me to an extent. Hockey is still better live but it is incredible on HDTV. It makes not going to the game not as big of a deal. At least for me..

Why I stopped as well. One month I was away for work and they had something like 12 home games. if home games were spread more evenly I'd do it, but to basically wipe out 25% of my tickets in one month... Couldn't justify it again.

Remember the afternoon Blues game that ended in a 0-0 tie? I'll never forget how disgusted I felt. Lowest of lows circa 2008 or so.

This team has done one hell of a 180.

2012 was my last. Will never get playoff tickets that cheap again. :) sadly the Grammys annually causes that bunched up set of home games to fall somewhere.
