Bank the win against Sharks. Goalie vs Vegas doesn't matter if we let them stand in the crease the whole game.

Rittich it is I guess with Kuemper waiting for Weds.

I wouldn't mind seeing Portillo and Copley and Ontario getting roasted only makes it possible to over ride Hiller's Safety Dance.

Goaltending might honestly be this team's biggest concern right now.

The Kings are 3rd in the league in expected goals against per 60 and 6th in the league in expected goals for per 60.... I know this team has had their issues defensively this year. But the advanced stats seem to suggest goaltending is certainly the team's main issue.

Both Kuemper and Rittich are near the bottom of the league in terms of goals saved above expected as well.

This team is probably sitting at 8-9 wins right now if they had even just solid, middle of the pack goaltending. Will be interesting to see how things go as the season progresses. Kings might end up needing to trade for a goaltender (assuming Portillo isn't ready) but don't have a ton of flexibility with the cap.

What geniuses......

Nobody else but Portillo should play anyways
The other guys are backups and nothing else
He's not ready

Goaltending is largely mental and he will be mentally scarred by the NHL level talent. It will be important to call him up a few times this season to dip his toe in the deep end and maybe get singed a little so he knows he needs to grow, but he is not ready to be napalmed

Where's the fun in that? Just chuck him in the deep end, gators & all.

Kings are all in to win for all the staff's sake of keeping their jobs.

If a tender is injured < I think the Kings go with the hot hand from the Reign.

Right now that seems to be Portillo.

You never know if a player is ready for sure until you throw him in there.

Instead of napalm, how about just a small amount of C4 to get him free from the ahl?

Not sure i agree here.

He is a goalie his whole life.
I am pretty sure he is aware that he has to put some kind of goalie equipment between the puck and the goal line after a puck is shot.
There is nothing mental about it.

He has all the tools to become a good goalie.
This team is going nowhere as usual, even if he has some blunders.

THe team I hope , is at least going wild card.

Long Season.

We'll see.

Could be valuable experience along the way.

Kuemper hung in longer than I expected,

LA's Gibson.

Portillo coming up but the Kings are only playing 3 games in the next week.

With Hiller , Blake and man yof the ships crew white knuckling for their jobs, this seems to be a just get acquainted Luau.

Bro welcome to the South Bay scene , please only surf on a soft top when its under three feet brother.

Iafallo got traded for surfing his fiberglass boards on overhead days.

Must wins in November are scary but gotta beat the lower echelon on or the Ship mates could be walking the plank before we reach the New World.

Looks like the C4 worked, vato! Portillo was called and up will hopefully explode on the scene

Diarrhea on the bench?

IMO I would fault the skaters defensive play more than the goalie's, mostly thanks to Camper.

It's less of a 'tangle' and more of a 'pile' to me.

Rittich was very good against Jets after not so good against the Sharks.

It was a huge win after hitting rock bottomed in the prior game.

Losing to the Sharks really lowers my expectations and makes me wonder if the playoffs are the promised land.

Yeah it's like digging through dirt trying to find a gem.
