I've given up on them going away.

I gave up on that early on. People point out the shooting and yeah it's been really hot but they're still not even top 5 in goals score above expected. They're a legitimately great hockey team.

They’ll come back to earth eventually. Just stay in touch. But catching them or not is first world problems.

I mean getting 1st is the difference between playing one of the dog shit WC teams or Canes/Caps. Getting 1st is a big deal.

Nice win against a team that could’ve given a lot of trouble.

They did give us a lot of trouble at one end of the ice. They just didn't ever try playing at the other end and it's extremely hard to win if you don't

I know. It’s just December and their performance is out of our control at this point. Pile up points and stay in touch. They will come back to earth, they aren’t going to end up with 123 points.

Why is Dillon there? You'd think he'd know by now his partner can't really skate and it'd be better to stay back by the blueline. Like he's really not even doing anything positive there lmfao

Yeah - Sorry.

Now that you mention it though....they probably want Palat so maybe we take Stutzle back if we throw him in.

So it's Nemec/Dougie/Palat/Haula/5th for Tkachuk/Stutzle

I guess I'd let those guys go and take a chance on the return from Ottawa.

;)

I might get yelled at by the Sens owner for Soft Tampering

Bratt’s in a responsible position so that’s good. But yeah. Dillon and Hamilton both play very aggressively at times. Just the headaches we’re going to have to live with when they’re together lol

They've very clearly designated Luke-Pesce as the top pair and then the other 2 pairs get pretty even usage. It should be Luke-Pesce and Siegs-Kovy getting pretty even usage at the top and then Dillon-Dougie as a clear and distant 3rd pair.

Hamilton and Dillon play a very high event game. If you expect them to limit chances the way the other pairings do, you'll be disappointed. But try and keep an eye out for just how much NJD generates with them on. It's a lot more than you think

Yeah a home 1st round against the old man Bruins or who would even be the 2nd wild card team? The Isles? This shit Rags team?

Igor would have my ass in my throat for that series like 22/23 and the Isles guys, for whatever reason, play amazing once they get to the playoffs + they're getting over the injury bug. I want to avoid those guys since they'd relish being an underdog v NJD especially the f***ing Rags.

Part of me wants the Capitals just because I think that has potential to be the next big Metro rivalry+ that series would be box office with how our regular season games have gone but they've been incredible to "want" them in a series

Haven't faced Washington in the playoffs since 1990! I'd like to see that happen this spring.

So you would want Caps round 1 and then most likely the Canes round 2 barring a surprise instead of the other way around?

I know the Canes have had our number (though TBF the Caps have too before this year), but they seem more vulnerable this year and their goalie woes can be exploited.
