It was either Marino or Siegs, they went for Marino, I think both were going to bounce back with a coach who actually cared about defense but Siegs is clear the better option with hindsight even with Marino's back injury flaring up badly. Dougie's kind of been a 3rd pair PP specialist this year. Granted the PP's been great but I have a hard time believing it complete crumbles going from Dougie to Luke. I'm in the position where I'd much rather have Casey in the lineup making ~8 mil less on an ELC than Dougie and upgrading up front.

That was always a stupid f***ing narrative, he was the only forward besides Timo in the 2023 Carolina series who did anything, that series sold me on big ole 86 being able to play playoff hockey. Also remember he was questionable to play game 5 and still played even though that's when we lost the series. People are just idiots with Jack and expect the world from him when he's gone above and beyond his draft pick status
