I will not be using HF's standards for prospects, rather I'll count players as prospects who haven't played a full year in the NHL and appear to not be a slam dunk for a roster spot next year.

worst part is, Berube has probably a higher chance at getting some NHL duty way before half of these prospects on this list

Yeah he might even get a start early in the year if a goalie gets injured and plays in NHL before Kempe. Clearly we should be rating him higher than Kempe.

Berube is at best a mediocre AHL netminder. Meh.

Spencer Watson should win this. Don't know how many have been following the summer U-20 mini tourney but Watson has been money for Canada. He is a solid prospect and should have been up in 14-16 range for Kings prospects.

Goaltending is very different than regular skaters. Opportunity should not reflect on rating.

Just because you play in the NHL does not mean you are good. It means your pipeline either A) broke down somewhere, or B) Your team had a severe case of unlucky injuries and inconsistencies.

Berube has a higher potential of playing more NHL games than half of these players yet he's not even in the top 20 LA KINGS Prospects?

Higher according to whom?

Maybe to you but others may not agree. Some of those who agree may also think getting NHL games means a game here or there. I can see Berube turning into a Richard Bachman or Jeff Zatkoff, which, while getting NHL games, doesn't mean they are at all anything decent, nor were they ever.

There's a good chance guys like Cernak or Dowd or Leslie never make it either, but there's certainly a solid chance they will make it and there's an argument made for slotting a position player ahead of a goalie like Berube who is likely at best a NHL backup who will see 20-25 games a year at most while a positional player could see 80+ a year if he makes it.

Maybe according to you. I wouldn't even have him in the top 25. There's still guys there with chances to be NHL regulars. At very best Berube will be an emergency #3 goalie, a Barry Brust type (maybe not even on that level since Brust had some good seasons in AHL above what Berube has shown). So sure a game or two in NHL while many of the other prospects will wash out, but at least they still have potential to be better.
 
To anyone making posts to try and say a person shouldn't vote for someone It was dealt with in post 24 vote one when kingsfans post this in response to me

It's best prospect. Period. How you define what the best prospect is (best in the future or best now) is your call. Everyone has different criteria for what is the best prospect, pick whomever best meets your own criteria.

This clearly gives a person the right to vote whatever way they see fit whether you agree with there thinking or not..

Yes people can vote any way they want. But to declare the poll is broken since they don't agree with the placement of one player? That doesn't make sense. Maybe if they explained why they thought the player should be higher it could be a good discussion. Instead just dismissing the poll serves nothing.

These guys voted on all have a much higher potential than Berube, IMO. He is not even a #3 goalie in most organizations (nor will/should he be in Kings system). And he's plateaued pretty hard.

My post is not to defend anyones choice just to defend the fact that there choice shouldn't be argued against or told his reasons shouldn't be a factor It is why i asked wanted to get it out in the open so it wouldn't get to this. No one should have to defend his choice period. Everyone makes there choices for there own reason and in post 24 in vote one it clearly states this.

Discussion boards without discussion would be pretty boring.

And yes if someone comes in attacking the poll or others choices they should have to explain their reasons. As a part of the discussion. Which again is the point.

While i agree with our discussion board comment It was posted in the op and not all thread need discussion especially a thread like this. Its is a opinion thread with a poll to me that threads like this is all opinion and don't need the discussion.

his opinion of who he voted for is all im defending and that happened way before he stated that the poll was broken simple as that
